The reason he felt close to Anita was because he saw such a child in her. Someone who may or may not have gone through same as him. That was why he was somewhat worried about her, while he knew not to get close to anyone in there.
Slowly the background began to fade. The door, the old Tv, the couch and the kitchen, until all that was left was complete white, except for his mother and the young him. Slowly they too begun to fade until there was nothing left. Anderson jolted awake, throwing fits of cough while looking around. He was back at the dirt crossroads with the familiar annoying face smiling back at him. “Welcome back.”
