HER eyes scanned the room, and she took in the sight of her friends and fans, all dressed as various Bratz characters. Balloons and streamers in Bratz colors—pink, purple, and green—covered the ceiling, creating a vibrant canopy above them. A DJ played the latest hits, remixed with the Bratz theme song, and a dance floor filled the center of the room, surrounded by tables laden with food and drinks. The walls were plastered with more posters of the dolls, now dwarfed by the real-life figures that mirrored their style.

I stood up, i walked to my room, iopened the closet. The harness was still there. The Black leather, Straps and buckles. I had thrown it in the back the day Dmitri brought it. I pulled it out, I held it in my hands. The leather was soft and Cold. I took off my clothes. I put on the harness. It was hard to fasten. The straps went around my chest, between my legs, around my thighs. I had to adjust the buckles twice. When I was done, I looked at myself in the mirror.

"You'd be worse than this if you had." I groan, rub my face in my hands at something else I have no clue about and don't really want to find out. "Yeahhh," She laughs. "Let's have that conversation when you're feeling a bit less like a corpse." Pushing the existential crises aside, I press further. "Are you bonded?" Valentine's expression turns horrified. As we approached, I took them in. The girl had stunning pink hair and several piercings in her ears and nose. She wore worn jeans and a faded band t-shirt, and her arms were covered in complex tattoos. Next to her, a lanky boy with sleeve tattoos swirled a cigarette between his fingers, his black eyes alert. The third was built like a linebacker, with a shaved head and a geometric tattooed near the base of his head. "This is Raven, Zeke, and Brick," Jade stated, nodding to each of them.

It was time for Velvet Mistress I picked out one of my favorite bodysuits. It hugged my curves just right. Then I sat in front of my mirror and reached for the wig I always used. Long black curls. I adjusted the lace so it blended into my hairline. Next, the contacts. Bright gray. They always gave my eyes that otherworldly look that people loved. Finally, I reached for the mask. Soft leather, black, with gold edges. It covered half my face but showed just enough. Mysterious. Powerful. Untouchable.
