Brett hung up the phone amidst Carissa's cries. He lay on the sofa, staring at the ceiling, and pulled out the phone card. He lit it with a lighter and flushed the remaining ashes down the toilet. After he finished, Parker and his men rushed in. Brett didn't struggle and let Parker's men handcuff him. They took him to the interrogation room. Brett admitted that he and Estela had planned the whole thing, except for the part involving Carissa. Parker and Wilson were surprised that Brett had confessed so easily. The guard shouted, rushing towards them. But before he could reach Brett, Adam delivered a powerful punch.

His heartbeat increased when his boss walked over to him, grabbed his collar and yelled again. " WHAT DO YOU THINK I RUN HERE, BRETT?! A CHARITY?"

DAWN POV Something about the “oh-so redeemed” behavior of Brett didn’t add up. Just some time back I was ready to show him a thing or two and break his nice gold-braced teeth once and for all because he was behaving like a sick fuck, and now he was suddenly so good, even asking for a job from Elizabeth? That didn’t make sense at all.

My stomach twisted into tight knots, because of the impend to handover confrontation with him. I moved to the snooker pool in front of him, twirled my waist and feigned playing snooker, but was spying at him. It was what I was instructed to do. Instead of setting her down on her feet, I found myself holding her tighter, not wanting to let go. That was exactly how Cade and Stephanie found us when they walked onto the site. "Well, isn't this a lovely sight?" Stephanie said with a cruel laugh. We both turned to look at them. Cade was glaring at me with pure hatred in his eyes.
