When I reached her, she began thrashing wildly, trying to push me away. All the while, she kept crying out, "Blake, save me! Save me…" Watching her flail around like a hog before New Year's dinner, and seeing Blake already preparing to dive in, I didn't hesitate. I raised my hand and chopped her neck cleanly. She went limp instantly. Without an ounce of politeness, I dragged her back toward the shore.

"Looking at you is enough. I don't care about where I'm going." We once believed love could triumph over everything. Who would have thought that the greatest obstacle would turn out to be Carlo himself? He reached for the contract as his Grandfather handed it to him, flipping it to the next page and seeing the terms of the marriage. He only had six months to find a bride and marry her! Also, she would be given a polygraph test along with a pelvic exam from an OBGYN of his choosing in order to qualify! Was his Grandfather insane? Either way, he had to get out of there. He stood

Then, the lead guard spoke apologetically, though his eyes mocked me. "Ms. Rook, we're just following orders. Please be understanding. Ms. Jones has Mr. Ford's favor, while you're just a tool in an arranged marriage with no background. If your late parents suddenly came back to life with some earth-shaking connections, then we'd definitely apologize to you." I'd donned an elegant gown and heels for the engagement ceremony. I managed to dodge the guards twice, but they soon caught me by the arms and forced me into a half-kneeling position before Linda.

she whispered. Richard folded his hands behind his back. "The guests don't know the bride personally. Most of them are business associates. The ceremony hasn't started, and the press hasn't seen her yet." He turned to Adrian. "The merger survives." Eva stared at him in disbelief. "You can't replace a bride like she's a missing decoration." "No," Richard replied calmly. "But we can replace a woman who has already chosen to leave." "I said no." Richard raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't asking you."

He affirmed, kissing his wife softly. "Alright. I'll run then." Claire was trying to hold back the annoyance she was feeling at the moment, but evidently with little success. "Sis, is everything alright?" Her older brother asked her. "Yes, yes. Everything is just fine. Except that Wĕi Qí disregarded the few directions I gave." She replied with a huff. "Ahaha, come on. It's not that bad." "The groom and groom can't see each other the night before the wedding. It's tradition." She said, annoyed.
