There’s a screaming storm surrounding it and flashes of red, demonic lightning. But I see it, clear as day. So cautious, afraid, and hopeful, I reach a hand toward it. I summon Neron, collecting all the power I can. I reach. I imagine killing that pulsing darkness. My hands glow blue and brilliant. And the second I touch it, my brain is filled with screams, a howling storm of rage. And everything goes dark.

Byron nodded at this, not sure if the demon could see him in the dim candlelight or why he was even responding. Yes, he thought, knowing there was a reason, no matter how insane, would make it a little bit better. Sure, it wouldn't bring the dead back, and make Janice sleep any better or even make it so she could return to the world after defeating this nightmare (assuming, of course, that she could defeat it) without spending the rest of her life behind bars. However, if things made the tiniest bit of sense, affirmed his worldview just a little bit, it would indeed be better.

People take the opportunity of killing, kidnapping, smuggling and doing so many illegal things at night because it's not tumultuous at all. Also people throw most of the parties and peaceful events at night. Every night holds a mystery because of its darkness and opaqueness. I love nights for its mysterious but so clam ambience. No tumultus, no noise, no yelling, no beating and no fear. It's just so tranquil.

SYLVIA'S POV The night sky was a canvas of flickering lights as I stood there, taking in the beauty of it all. The warm, balmy air of Rio wrapped around me like a comforting blanket, and the sound of music and laughter filled the air. It was a perfect night, a celebration of everything we had worked so hard to achieve. The lighters—thousands of them—filled the sky, their soft glow reflecting the joy and camaraderie that had blossomed within this community.

The scent of crushed pine needles, night-blooming jasmine, and anticipation hung heavy over the sacred clearing. Tonight, under the absolute brilliance of the supermoon, the Nightshade Pack was gathered in a sea of expectant faces. Torches flickered against the ancient stone pillars of the ritual grounds, casting long, dancing shadows across the crowd.

There's no better way to enjoy the beauty of the city in the serenity of Night. Most days are rushed in the city, but at night. City Nights are different and splendid. city peoples won't even spare a glance to their co-passengers during day time, because the tension of reaching their office, school and collage on time is more important than comforting a stranger with a smile. The heat waves, pollution and traffic won't let people breathe peacefully and therefore Nights are far better than days when you're living in cities.

Night was always the time when everything happened. From dark supernatural forces roaming the world, to vampires lurking in every corner of the streets and most importantly, those who found pleasure in the nightlifes. Those whose only solace were clubs, bars, and joint houses. And let's not forget, notorious gang members were said to enjoy prying on the weak at night out in the streets. In one word, the night harbored everything bad and evil; which was the gang members, vampires and demons. Only two out of those didn't exist in this world we live in except for the gang members of course. Let's face it, this was reality anyways.

​"Leo..." ​The surrounding noise of the night seemed to fade into absolute silence. The muffled, heavy thud of the club music behind the metal doors, the groans of the four men bleeding out on the wet pavement, the quiet drip of rain falling off the brick walls—it all died away. The entire world shrank down to just the two of them standing under the flickering yellow streetlight. ​They simply stared at each other for a full, agonizing minute. Neither of them moved. Neither of them dared to breathe.

The lights in Alexander’s office had been dimmed to a low, amber glow—the kind meant for long nights when clarity mattered more than presentation. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city in scattered constellations of light, traffic far below moving like veins under skin. It was well past midnight. Too late for rational decisions. Late enough for truths to loosen.

Bright woke up next morning when a strong breeze displaced the curtains and the sunlight shined bright in his eyes. He stretched and saw that the breeze came from the balcony whose door was open. Ash was awake. Bright got up and rubbed his eyes to clear his vision when he saw Ash who was adjusting his thigh holsters while it rested on the sofa. In his half-asleep state, Bright forgot the trouble in their paradise and wanted to greet Ash when suddenly realization dawned upon him and he sighed, "Never mind". He whispered, rather loudly, attracting Ash attention. On any other day, Ash lips usually curved into a smile seeing Bright but today, he stared at him blankly.
