"If you enter that field, you may be incorporated into its effect," Kairi explained rapidly. "Or you may become a bridge, allowing it to spread." "So what? We just watch him fade into a silent movie?" I argued, but I stayed put. The numb line on my chest ached in sympathy. "We attack the field's point of origin. Its conceptual anchor." Kairi's mind was racing, his eyes darting around the soundless bubble. "It must be attached to something. A specific, simplifying idea aimed at Silas."
