It didn’t look as though many came through here at all. Perhaps the crofters were not permitted, but from what he had seen it was more likely they simply didn’t bother. It grated him to think that the people he would soon lead had so little initiative that they wouldn’t even venture the distance to collect fallen wood. There was not a single evidence for such a claim, so it was rather dismissed, though the Zorpheans were wise enough not to verify the rumor; not when it was their life that would be more likely at risk. That being said, Briane was wondering how these Wielders were able to swallow going directly in there. Hiding in the bushes, he made sure that their distance was still far, so they wouldn’t be able to notice his presence. One thing that he noticed, though, was how the trees made such a linear pattern, their leaves a little gray, falling on the ground with a tone that reverberated in the entire place. It was a wonder how such a light thing was able to make such a great echo.
