The one that had brought back Iris's memories. I reached out and picked it up. It was cool against my fingers. I looked at it for a moment, then slipped it into my pocket. I walked out of the room and down the stairs. Stephen was waiting at the front entrance. He was holding a small black watch in his hand. "Take this," he said, holding it out to me. "The moment something goes wrong, click the button. We'll come in." I looked at the watch. I took it from his hand, turned it over once, then closed my fist around it. I squeezed hard. The glass cracked. The metal bent. I opened my hand and let the broken pieces fall to the floor.

"In a few days, you won't even remember it's there. It will just be a part of you. Like your name. Like this family." He walked toward the door but stopped with his hand on the handle. "By the way, don't try to take it off tonight. The clasp has a sensor. If the watch is removed for more than ten seconds, an alert goes straight to my phone and Ivan’s. And you know how Ivan gets when his sleep is interrupted." He winked at me and walked out, closing the door softly behind him. I stood in the middle of the room, staring at the dark blue face of the watch. I could hear it ticking. It was a very faint, steady sound. Tick. Tick. Tick. It sounded like a countdown.

Isaacs POV// It's almost midnight of the sixth day since we arrived home after our last battle. This is the first time I didn't loose a man in the fight although a lot are in a bad shape, that's why I still haven't got a proper night sleep. I can hear the agonising screams from the hospital, I am worried, tired and exhausted but the bunch of files and other shit that is on my desk just seems to never end . A sharp crack broke the silence in the living room. The bracelet hit the hard marble floor, and the gem shattered into pieces. At that instant, everything around me stood still. I stared at the broken pieces on the floor, my mind going blank. Susan shrieked and took a step back. Jason swiftly grabbed Susan's hand and anxiously checked the back of her hand and her calves. I'm still in my thoughts, finding it difficult to fall asleep when the wristwatch suddenly comes on and the light reflects in the room. I quickly pick it up and I go under the thick duvet to prevent the light from reflecting. I look at the screen and there's a message that reads: Search for Isaac Newman, he's an engineer who fixes cars for the Alpha. He'll give you something we have prepared for you tomorrow. Then the screen goes blank again and I'm left wondering how many more spies Alpha Luggard has fixed in this pack that the alpha doesn't know about. I guess I'm his closest shot to knowing everything about the alpha since I seem to be the only one that has gotten the closest to him.

The evening before, Isaac watched as the final blood of the royal heir have finally breathed his last and pulled his widest smile. He pushed himself from the stairs, looking at the sun that had appeared to greet the new morning and spread his arms wide as though he was waiting for someone to appear. But as he does, he noticed no one appeared that caused his wide smile to slowly fade. Isaac put his thumb between his teeth, biting his flesh in annoyance, “Still he doesn’t want to come out?”

Looking up, Isaac asked, "How did you manage to uncover this so quickly?" James knew how useful the scandal was for them, but did not hog the accomplishment.
