He backed up to the door and pulled it ajar, letting the bullies enter. Jayce tutted and shook his head as he passed. He was at least a head taller than the rest of them and had fists the size of boulders. Everyone knew this guy was an animal when it came to fighting. It was the consensus that if you got targeted you rolled up and played dead, much like the protocol for a bear attack. "I'm sorry, okay?" Alfie cried. "I'm sorry. I only went with her because she bought me stuff. I don't even like her."

“She’ll end up with the meat in the walk-in.” “Fuck you.” He turned away and closed his eyes. “Awww,” he heard Brody, smelling like Axe body spray and sweaty feet, whispering in his ear. “Bro here’s gonna cry. Big ol’ pussy just like his pop-pop.” Wrong again, asshole, he thought. “You know what we do to big ol’ pussies, right, bro?”

More wolves emerged from the tree line, this was the biggest attack we had encountered in a while and it made me wonder if someone had sent them. The next thing I know I’m being pinned down by two rogues, both snapping at my face. My vision goes blank briefly as Brody takes over. He was a killer and this is what he was made to do. Brody roared loudly shaking the trees around us and flew from the floor, taking one of the rogues with him. I watch in the background as he pinned the rogue against a tree and tore at his face.

But it didn't freak him out the way it had the day before. There were whispers in town, started by who knows who, but those whispers were heating up fast. It seemed like no sooner had the furor over the divorce died down than there was new news. Of course, there had been other entrees on the gossip menu the last few months, but nothing as juicy as this new little tidbit. "He's Clancy's grandson; came up after poor dear Ethel's funeral rest her soul." "I hear he's loaded." "How loaded can he be, Theo? The boy rides one of those death traps and got tattoos up one side and down the other. I don't think they hire that type in any respectable company."

Steve pov: The blood in my veins boiled as I stepped forward, my voice shaking with fury. "How dare you hurt my brother," I roared at the group of bullies. The crowd around us fell silent, their eyes locked on us as they recorded the scene on their phones. My fist connected with a bully's face in a satisfying thud, sending a jolt of energy through my arm. Another bully appeared and blocked my way, trying to stop me from hitting. I felt a wave of anger surge through me and I couldn't help but lash out.

"I am not your brother." He had to be fucking kidding me! "No!" "I'm your stepbrother, Bunny. Not your biological one," he clarified, his hands resting on the footboard as he leaned closer. Our faces were mere inches apart, his warm breath grazing my skin, sending involuntary shivers down my spine. Calm down, Hailey, “So let's stop pretending, shall we?"

He asked with a frown, staring around my body questionably. “Nothing too bad,” I tell him. “You were in the fire for a while and saved a few people,” he said, furrowing his brows together. “You were there when the oven exploded. Most of us got at least a few cuts from that… but you didn’t.” Brody doesn’t know that I’m a Volana and we don’t get injured or killed that easily. I wasn’t going to tell him either. “I guess I’m just lucky that way,” I said with a shrug. “Yeah… I guess so,” he said, rubbing the palm of his hand behind his neck and looking seemingly

“Look at your Daddy’s big hand. He can hold both of us with just one hand.” Lilly gazed in admiration. “Like the Hulk!” “Lilly knows about the Hulk?” Jasmine said in surprise. “Daddy said Hulk is an alien!” Jasmine looked at Mr. Hawthorne with a puzzled expression, seeking an explanation for what she had just heard. “Yeah, he’s green,” Mr. Hawthorne added, clarifying. “Broccoli is green too,” Lilly said innocently, trying to comprehend the new fact she had just learned. “So, besides being an alien, Hulk is also broccoli?”

All I cared about was my mothers happiness, I just hoped she was making the right choice by getting married to him. “Don't worry Brielle, your mother is making the right choice, i'm not just saying it because he's rich. Your mom is an adult and she knows exactly what she wants, you have to trust her” Ryan said “I'm not worried about my mom, it's the family she's marrying into im worried about, davis son” I said “Why are you worried about his son? You already met him? Is he hot?” “His son is Mateo, Mateo caldwell, my ex bully”

"Do you want to see?" Liv sucked in a breath before a shy smile tugged at her own lips. She nodded. Brodi stood and whipped off his mossy green henley exposing his superhero-sized chest with a large howling wolf's head covering his right pec and shoulder. When his fingers undid the button of his jeans, Liv threw a hand over her eyes. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Why are you going all Magic Mike on me?" Brodi stopped and cocked his head inquiringly at her. "Who is this Magic Mike?"
