My mouth opens, ready to argue it does not involve my brother in drugs, but I catch myself in time. Sadly, not in time to close my mouth before giving myself away. My brother is many things, but after watching his best friend OD at sixteen, he's not a drug runner or seller or pusher or anything like that. In fact, he promised me after being banished to Pelican Bay and the lackluster club, he would work on turning it around to a more legitimate business. There's a very thin line most clubs can walk where they maintain the reputation but can use their services for good.

The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was a surprisingly lively scene at home. A large number of guests gathered in the living room, chatting and laughing, celebrating my brother, Ian Green's miraculous escape from danger. Everyone tacitly chose to forget about me, the one who went to jail in his place. My mother was all smiles. "Good things come to those who deserve them. Ian has done so many good deeds; it's only right that he survived this disaster." This sentence made me, who had become a spiritual being, somewhat lost in thought.

The call ended, leaving the room quieter than before. He leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. Somewhere out there was a brother he had never met, a person who shared his face, his blood, his origin. It was the one unresolved thread in his life, the one question that never quite let him rest. Their members were far more unruly than the Ryders. As soon as I stepped into their warehouse, the heavy smell of drugs knocked me off my feet. Weed, cocaine, alcohol, you name it was all over the place.

Only a fraction of it was visible, but I knew what the rest of the design looked like. A lone wolf. My blood turned to ice. "Rogues," I whispered, the word barely making it past my lips. Only those who had been banished carried that mark. Those who had been cast out of their packs, stripped of their rights, forced to live in the shadows. Ezra. My little brother. My naive, stupid little brother he had been dealing with a rogue. I gritted my teeth, my whole body tensing with anger. My vision blurred at the edges, fury clawing its way through my veins.
