I ask him, only getting him to glare at me.
“When was the last time you drank something?” He leans down, grabbing the top of my head with an angry expression. “Or ate.”
I shake my head slowly, my eyes glued to his. “I didn’t want to risk—”
“That was a stupid idea. It’s driving me crazy,” he growls, and I blink, taken aback.
“What?” I ask in a whisper as he leans closer while Ace and Hilda appear out of thin air.
“The pup,” he snarls, letting go of me before the other two could reach us. “He hasn’t stopped crying since we passed the barrier to the Netherworld. Can’t you hear him?”
