Boy in the bubble by Alec Benjamin. I left the food tip on the table and got out of the cafe. I walked across the street and stood in front of him. He looked up at me with sad and grateful eyes and my jaw ticked at the purple bruise on his left swollen eyes. His good eye was beautiful. It was a mixture of blue and hazel but mostly blue. He had a cute nose and his lips were cupids bow like and slightly pale skin. I admired his red hair that fell on the side of his face from his head warmer.

Warmth seeped through as teardrops soaked his shirt. "Hey, hey... it's okay ...." I pushed Jay's chest. "Get lost! Why do you always make my eyes hot?" I grumbled. My sobs probably sounded sharp, similar to a female cat having a tantrum. Let it go. "Ah, your eyes are burning? Then, it can't be helped!" Jay then widened the eyelid with his finger, then constantly blowing alternately. "Silly vampire! What the hell do you want?" "Shut up, I'm soothing your eyes. Too bad you can't see my handsome face," Jay teased.

Everyone else is calm and collected as if nothing out of the ordinary is going on. I glance back over at the crying infant, her little eyes filled with tears that roll down her fawn-coloured cheeks. It’s the first time I’ve seen her eyes, and I can’t help but feel surprised as I take in their appearance. They’re intense, like pools of lava formed by a dazzling gold around the pupil that bleeds into a vibrant crimson red. As a Goddess, I had expected her to be born with silver eyes like the other Gods, but instead, they are the perfect mix of her mother’s golden eyes and the blood red that once signified Oshmin’s curse.

The girl who takes off her glasses and everyone sees how beautiful she is, the way a man loses himself to the otherwise antagonized protagonist? None of those common tropes compare to the sparkle she hides behind those dark brown eyes. Holy shit. Her eyes find me, and Evelyn’s smile brightens, her a beautiful bubble gum pink that surrounds her stark white teeth.

Releasing a huff I close my eyes and read a spell. A large blue bubble form around them as Era looked at it wide eyed. Her tongue tied seeing the unnatural thing and next they disappear from there.

Everything. My face glows a soft, warm color of life. My eyes are no longer bloodshot. But they are different. I stutter out a soft sigh as I slowly blink. Slowly, and even more slowly, I blink my left eye. It is a shade of complete, absolute silver. Even the iris, which had once glittered a gentle amber, has lost all its color. It now looks like the ashen background of a graveyard. Almost like a lie, my other eye stares back at me, with the tenderness of fresh, sweet honey.

She almost shouted in disbelief, weirdly staring at me as we'd both climbed inside the car. "Yeah, it seems that his eyes kinda change colors sometimes like they turn golden and start glowing and other times they just turn completely black. Does that make any sense?" I made a weirded-out grimace as I looked at her. "They what?!?" "Yeah, totally fucked-up, I know," I lightly shook my head. "No, that's not fucked-up. That's fucking insane like, batshit crazy dude! What do you mean his eyes are fucking glowing, what is he, a damn firefly or something?" She continued to vent as she stared back at me in utter disbelief.

KILLIAN'S POV "He's opening his eyes!" My eyes faintly picked up a voice shouting in excitement. "Really? Finally! Let me see!" My lids felt heavy as I tried to lift them. But then I opened them finally and my eyes widened in surprise. I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. In fact, it wasn't possible at all... Unless I was dead. I was inside a big bubble deep inside the ocean. Beautiful fishes swarm over the bubble, and some strange creatures gathered all around, peeking at me with curiosity.

She looked at her reflection on the jug next to Elhias and blinked several times. Taryn's irises had taken on another, more vivid color, a green that seemed to be alive. She blinked again and the color changed, becoming an intense blue that recalled the waves. She did it again and this time her eyes turned red, like the flames of a raging fire.

Krystalina~ Disgusting. That’s what he called my eyes while staring into the depths of my soul. He called my eyes disgusting. How fucking dare he. Ever since I was a kid, everyone has complimented my eyes, and he had to come and shatter that bubble in a few seconds. I stared too deep into the mirror, my gaze fixated on my eyes, trying to find any kind of flaw in them. Is this because they are big like a Bambi ? Or is it because of their color? I mean, they are a rare ocean blue in color, but…
