Bucky lamented that he was not born with two extra legs so that he could run faster. Thankfully, he had managed to use Adrian as a shield. Otherwise, he would be dead by now. Touching the bruises on his neck, Bucky shivered in pain. When he tried to sneak into the yard, he ran into Adrian and quickly lowered his head. "Why are you only coming in now?” Adrian asked. Bucky replied, "I was chatting with Hendrick. He's a gossipy fellow and refused to let me go until he finished. Do you need me for something, sir?"

"I really appreciate every single thing that you have done for me and Brielle it means a lot to me because I couldn't find it to give her all that is essential to a three year old and I'm happy for what you did, I don't know how to repay you or if I ever could right now," He looked at me and smiled a bit causing my heart to go wild, he hardly smiled .I have noticed that in public his poker face is on display but when it comes to me, his parents, Brielle, Gage and even William and Benjamin he smiles and he looks beautiful when he smiled.

Bucky lifted his foot and stepped out. After nine o’clock, the hospital was very quiet. Bucky returned to the car, he lowered his head and lit a cigarette. He remembered Alina and Noble in the photo he had just seen, he didn’t know what the two were talking about but Alina curled her lips and smiled, Noble stood beside her, he lowered his head slightly, the distance between the two was not too far nor too close, not to the point of being vague but seeing it made his heart feel like there was a thorn stabbing it.

The moment I stepped in, they both turned at the same time and looked straight at me. As soon as Barnes saw me, he jumped up from his seat with a big smile. Roman stayed seated, relaxed. “Hey, kiddo, you’re finally awake?” Roman asked, grinning at me. I smiled back. “Thank you for letting me crash here last night,” I said to him. He gave a small nod in response. “Well, I’m sorry I ditched you and left you with this guy,” Barnes added, gesturing toward Roman. I shot him a pointed look, and Roman immediately burst out laughing at the exchange.

A smile formed on his face before he turned away walked back into the crowd. “That is their leader.. Filthy bastard.” Bron blurted. “Did you see that? Why was he smiling?” I asked Bron. Bron squinted his eyes, “He was smiling? Maybe you didn't see right, he's probably so angry right now that he didn't get his hands on us.” He replied. I sighed, I was sure of what I saw. Maybe he was just a weird person but he surely smiled at us despite us getting away from him. Makes me wonder who the sudden rider is. “Do you know this person?” I asked Bron.

His expression, though darkened with annoyance, seemed prominently concerned as his eyes swept over me. “Mr. Cogsworth,” Smith began, “if you could take her other side—” “No need,” Barnett said as he stepped forward. “I can handle this.” Just like the day he saved me from Bob, Barnett scooped me into his arms and pulled me close to his chest. My head rested against his shoulder. I inhaled his scent—sweat, pine, and hockey jerseys and helmets—and my stomach settled a little.

He smiles at me once more. Damn, that smile does strange things to me! His hazel eyes seem to almost light up when he smiles, little wrinkles next to his eyes appear, making his face seem instantly more animated. I see him looking at the lock screen of my phone as he goes to hand it back. The picture is of me and my brother with our father at a pack event. All formal.

BENNETT’S POV I’d never hated the sound of laughter so much in my life as I did right now. It was the sound of Lucas’s laughter. He sounded happy, happier than I've ever heard him. I stayed low behind a row of neon-lit claw machines, Ryder a few feet behind me, both of us doing our best not to look like creeps as we trailed Lucas and… him. Xane Baxter. Lucas was grinning like I hadn’t seen him grin in months. It was not the small, polite smile he gave people when they talked to him or the guarded smirk he wore around me, like he was scared of doing or saying something that would set me off.

And it completely, utterly, flew at the face of what they knew about the world. Zayn, meanwhile, espied the intensifying fear on the foreigners’ faces. His grin cracked even wider into a smile. He beckoned to Smith with the same smile and said, “So, Smith! I heard you’ve just finished filming a sci-fi movie, where you’re some kinda unstoppable superhero in it. Wow, so cool, bro! Can I see how cool and invincible you are in real life?”

Jake's caring and fun nature were ones that I had hoped to see developed. Then I turned to Blake, unlike Jake, there was no smile to be seen. He wasn't even able to look at me. Similarly to both Arthur and Nick, he was crying but his back was turned to me and all I could see was his shaking figure. Jake put a hand on his shoulder, motioning him to turn around but he just shrugged it off. The smile on my face staid present, "Keep on loving." I told him and that made his whole body freeze.
