The councillor of the Bratva and his ex father in law, BORIS SOKOLOV! “Boris?” he said in a low whisper which held his shock. He cleared his throat and forced the words out of his mouth. “I didn’t expect to see you here, today.” Boris let out a low chuckle at his words as he took heavy predatory steps towards Klaus Barbieri. “Well, I didn't want to come, trust me. But I couldn't stop myself from coming here and seeing the man’s audacity and courage to marry another girl just after one year of my daughter’s death.”

He leans his hands against the glass and takes deep breaths before looking back at me. "Boris Federov was a small-time gangster with control of a few clubs back in those days. He wasn't strong and he wasn't important, but he was friendly with me and he was friendly with Don Russo, and that mattered. He approached me one night saying Don Russo wants to speak about ending the war, and so I agreed to go to the meeting. We were losing, but it was a bloody, vicious war, and it was costing both sides a lot of lives. Don Russo was ready to put an end to it, and I had little choice. But like I said, the sickness hit me, and so Manuel went in my place.

But it fizzes out, and all I can feel is pain. Everything is so fuzzy, that I don't realize Ford is being pulled off me until I hit the ground. I don’t realize there’s a group of people around us. But I heard him. My mate. “Fuck baby” he’s holding me close to his body. “He won’t stop bleeding! Uncle Kade, it's gushing!” I hear the panic in his voice. I feel the bond solidifying. I feel it growing, and a pavement being made. But it’s not with the guy who tried to mark me. It’s with my mate.

"Get him to leave me alone." This was the guy who had stolen his girlfriend and called him a paranoid freak the whole time he was seeing her behind his back. The guy who now had the love of his life wrapped around his little finger. That was all he could think about as Alfie stared at him with huge, terrified eyes, begging for mercy. He backed up to the door and pulled it ajar, letting the bullies enter.

He had high hopes that maybe this time, his father would consider his feelings that maybe the old man finally came to his senses and was now more open to the idea that he was family? No, the bastard chose to drive him off after the formal introductions. Borris did not care of the girl, he just wanted to be in he same room as Teresa. She had given him a little smile when their eyes met and Boris was convinced that Teresa feels more than a friend. It could have been him and not Clay. That did not happen. Once again, Quentin Wesley Black have made his point---that Borris LaRue was his son ,yes, but not trusted enough.

It wouldn't do to take out his muscle and piss off the big man's insane brother. Vlad sat heavily in the big, well-used leather chair behind his desk and rolled his shoulders, pulling some of the tension out of the muscles. Wordlessly, Boris poured a couple of healthy shots of vodka and placed one in front of Vlad. Going around the desk, he sat in the other chair, ignoring the creak as it protested his massive weight. Vlad was once more struck by how graceful the man could move despite his size. Boris was often underestimated as slow by people who thought they might be able to best the big man. It was usually the last thought they had.

Creed retorted. Boris, not affected, just looked at his nails, “Yeah, and I am happy to be single. Now go back there.” What I like about Boris is he has no filter and just says whatever he needs to be. He’s not even threatened by his cousin being the past ”Ravager” who could kill him in seconds if he wanted to. A perfect match for a not-so-talkative type like Creed. He just brings out the childishness in Creed that I didn’t know he had. “I am proud you managed to pull this off,” I interjected between their banter.

I say, getting to my feet. Grouch moves in, standing next to Missile as he takes in the ink. It means nothing to me but I’m glad Missile knows about this stuff. “Caught him within our border, truck full of weapons, some coke. Seems like he was just trying to cut through, maybe trying to get to somewhere else. Only we’re not a shortcut, we’re your last stop,” Buddy says, crossing his arms. Buddy’s a hell of a tracker, he’s sharp and quick. Someone you want on your team in a pinch for sure. But a killer, a torturer? Nah, not even close. He’s probably the least intimidating person under this roof.
