There was another where I found it, but strangely, it didn’t have the same smell as the used one. “Whose rouge is this?” I turned to the women who clung to the wall as if wanting to blend themselves with it. I’ve never come down here before, so their fear was expected; besides, they have been told a plague was brewing. Who wouldn’t be scared for their lives? “It belongs to Ada,” one of them finally spoke. I approached her, but she stumbled backward, afraid of me. Perhaps it was the way I looked, my eyes; they were dark, and during investigations, I am not Nightbane; I am Voidheart.

“If it’s related to your lycan, yes.” I took another sip of the tea. It was then I noticed that the sweet scent in the air came from the tea. “What kind of sweetener did you use for this?” His eyes brightened. Like someone had turn on a lightbulb hidden behind them. His back straightened and a smile crawled into his face. He looked ecstatic. Weird. Especially over a cup of tea. “It’s royal honey made from wild bees,” he replied. “Do you like it?” I took another sip. “It’s too sweet.”

She stood up and went into the cottage, returning a moment later with a bundle of dried blue-bells and a small jar of thick, golden honey. "This is Moon-Blossom honey," she explained. "It won't stop the Heat—nothing can—but it will take the edge off the fever. And these flowers? Put them in your bath. They’ll help Félix stay focused so he doesn't just turn into a mindless beast the moment he touches you." I took the items, my fingers brushing hers. "Thank you, Maya. I don't know what I’d do without you." "You’d probably just accidentally vaporize the Great Hall out of sheer horniness," Maya winked, making me gasp in mock-outrage.
