I rushed over to take a look. The bloated, swollen body pulled from the water on the screen was indeed me! Staring at my pale, distorted corpse, I instinctively covered my mouth. Back when I was alive, I had always cared about my appearance more than anything. But now, my body was fished out of the river without even the dignity of something to cover me. And Jerome? The scene zoomed out.

This made me laugh self-depricatingly. Seriously, I must be really blind in the past. It had been the same in the previous life. Ryan had hurriedly whisked me away. Eve was left to wait for his return all by herself. When he came back with the rescue team, the pod had already been buried under thick snow. Eve was left behind on the cold mountain forever. “Clara, you remember me, don't you?” Without hiding anything from him, I nodded and answered, "Yes. Apart from Leo and Serafina, who performed the formation, perhaps only I still remember you." Ethan smiled. "I knew you wouldn't forget me. My mother used to say that true love could overcome all magic. It's true!" I sneered, "Don't get me wrong. This has nothing to do with love." I waved my injured left hand and explained, "I remember you because my blood seeped into the formation that day, so the memory erase curse doesn't work on me."

Images of me being beaten, starved, locked in the closet and burned came rushing back to me. I started to sway just thinking about it. The word was bury. “I know Scar, I want to make new memories here with you. Happy ones. Ones that will make you want to come back here on our own and not me begging.”

She tried to push them away, burying them deep within the recesses of her mind, but they persisted, clawing their way back to the surface. The room seemed to darken as the memories took hold, casting a shadow over Selena's heart. She could feel the weight of the past pressing down on her, the emotions that had been carefully suppressed now resurfacing with intensity.
