Then the poetry. Handwritten. Sometimes sonnets. Sometimes messy, jagged pieces that felt like they’d been ripped straight from his chest. As the structure groaned and buckled, Dante turned away. "Load up," he growled. "We're not done."

I wanted to look them in the eyes and be absolutely sure these two fools were dead before I walked away. Turning back toward the compound, I pulled a small incendiary device from my belt. I started burning each of the wooden buildings one by one, tossing the fire into the windows and watching the dry wood catch instantly. Within minutes, massive, roaring orange flames were rising everywhere around the whole building, lighting up the dark forest sky with a brilliant, destructive glow. The heat was intense against my skin as I finally walked back to the pile of bodies to burn them last and finish my job. I raised my foot, preparing to cast the flame down, when a sudden movement caught my eye.

He crushed the cigarette into the back of my hand. I couldn't fight. The silver had me paralyzed. My wolf howled in agony, but my consciousness slipped. This house—once filled with memories—now stank of blood and burnt flesh. I collapsed. Jack's voice followed me into the dark, cold and final. "Now I can be with Alice. Forever." I screamed inside, calling out to the Moon Goddess, begging for a reason—any reason—for why this was my fate. And then— I died. Drowned in betrayal. Suffocated by despair.

Tony stepped into the room, rolling his shoulders. “Money?” I exhaled, glancing at the stacks of cash piled high in the office. “Burn it,” I said. Tony didn’t need to be told twice. He grabbed a handful of bills, flicked open his lighter, and let the flames catch. The fire spread fast, eating through the stacks, turning everything the Rossis built into ash. I walked out as the flames consumed the club behind me. The heat licked at my back, the scent of gasoline and death thick in the air. I didn’t look back. My mind was already on my next move.

If I could just– There was no time to think. Frankly, I think there was no time for anything else. “Burn, baby, burn.” That was the last thing I heard before strong and raging flames erupted underground and I felt the heat sear into my body.
