Broken promise

Broken promise

Rain lashed the glass, the world holding its breath. He closed his eyes. “Georgia,” he said softly. “Wait for me.” But as he reached for the door to leave, his phone buzzed with a single message from an unknown number: “Too late. She’s gone.” His grip tightened until the screen cracked. “No,” he whispered, a tremble of rage and fear clashing in his chest. “Not again.” And the storm took the house whole.

Break the Wait

Break the Wait

In the ward, only white curtains stirred in the wind. On the desk lay a signed divorce agreement. Jason stood in the empty ward, crumpling the agreement. His assistant ran in, panting, his forehead beaded with sweat. "Mr. Smith, I already had someone suppress the news, but the audio recording is spreading rapidly." Jason took a deep breath, the panicked look in his eyes fading into condescension. "No need to look for her. Cancel all her supplementary bank cards. The Woods have been relying on their deals with Smith Group to keep their business afloat. She's throwing a fit because she wants me to drive Susan away."

Broken.

Broken.

"Just a minute!!!" I replied with excitement. I took my towel and flunk it before drying my body then wrapped it on my body. As I rushed out of the bathroom, I was faced with an angry look by my makeup artist, Jessie. I've only known for like 28hrs and we've become such good friends. She's was very helpful and kind to me, even calming me whenever I'm worried or over excited about my wedding. I just couldn't tell or get the slightest idea on the whereabouts of my best friend, JADE, but hopefully she's somewhere planning something nice for my wedding or my honeymoon. And Jessie here is just the right person to take her place for now.

OFF LIMITS

OFF LIMITS

She felt the moment he got to number five because he made a sound that was very close to a laugh and then controlled it. “The debt has increased significantly,” he said. “Substantially,” Marcus confirmed. From the stove. Deeply serious. “By how much,” Damon said. “I’m still calculating.” Marcus turned around. Spatula in hand. Looking at both of them with the expression of a man who had made peace with something and was now administering it. “But it’s significant. I want that acknowledged.” “Acknowledged,” Damon said. “Good.” He turned back. “Eggs or no eggs.”

Rapid Breakdown

Rapid Breakdown

“Natalie, it’s all my fault. Don’t punish yourself and act so willfully that you refuse to see the big picture. It’ll make my heart hurt for you.” Did his heart really hurt for me, or was it because his projects had suddenly come to a halt? Who knew? I pretended to push him away feebly, but he hugged me even tighter. Carl continued rambling, “Natalie, don’t be rash. You can hit me or yell at me all you want, but don’t touch the money you’ve invested into the projects. You’ll cause the company to suffer a huge loss. “If you forgive me, I’ll make it up to you in any way you want.”

I genuinely love this book, only problems I have with it is the fact that he never actually travels with the people he gets to join him (hattie Mia etc) I wish there were more interaction between them all. second is that there are only 2 or so chapters a day....I have plenty of coins to waste...

I believe no updates is due to the platform not the authors themselves. Many of the books I’m reading are not updated as well. It is possible the authors are not able to upload their chapters on the platform

Mask Off

Mask Off

Without a word, he filled the two teacups, stretching the other to Andre. "What's in the tea?" Andre asked, holding his hand on a suspended level. "It didn't kill you the first time, you think it will now?" Macklemore teased. "I mean, is it like a truth syrup or some kind of therapeutic stuff?" Andre finally has a sip. "The tea is to help you relax, other than that, it does nothing else. Everything you see when you enter your subconscious is a manifestation of the residual files in your brain, just as our mobile applications contain residual files and cached all piled in the junk folder."

Beat

Beat

Raissa Allana Barrettomatemyacebee
I put the cup of coffee on my bedside table while still looking closely at Gab. Crimson was the one to give him first aid before we brought him here in my dorm. I can't afford to bring him to the hospital cause I know that my father is still keeping a keen eye to every of our movements. That's why we decided to just call Barry's friend who's a doctor at the community hospital. Dr. James said that Gab's vital is now stable and he just needs some rest. He also said that the reason why he passed out is because of exhaustion plus the pain of getting beaten up.

"I was wrong. I shouldn't have doubted you. Don't be mad anymore, and bring Nina back with you." Listening to his apology, I didn't even feel a stir in my heart. "Don't bother, Arturo. I'm not going back, and I don't want to see you again." "Are you really going to take things this far just because of what happened?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. I took a deep breath and said calmly, "I'll send the divorce papers to you as soon as possible." Arturo fell silent for a moment before exclaiming in disbelief, "It might have been just a misunderstanding, and you want to divorce me over it?"
