Crack! A bolt of lightning suddenly split the night sky in half. The pale white light flashed across my blurred vision, illuminating the Apple Watch that had just been exposed beneath my torn sleeve. I clenched my fists until my nails bit into my palms. “Get out of my head.” Damien turned back at my whisper, worry etched across his face. “Kayla, is he—?” “Yes,” I said, my voice shaking. “He’s trying to take control again.” Liam’s voice was low, rough. “Ignore him. He feeds on fear.” But how do you ignore something that lives inside you? We reached the edge of what looked like an underground crater—massive, circular, and unnaturally smooth. The blue light shimmered at its center, pulsing upward like a living flame trapped in glass. It wasn’t machinery anymore. It was alive.

The impact threw debris into the air, and the shockwave hit my chest like a hammer. She stood in the crater she’d made, her gaze sweeping across us with no hint of recognition, only rage. How were we supposed to knock her unconscious when she could dodge everything we threw at her? We needed to disorient her. I reached behind me and pulled out the Sonic screamer. Its sharp hum vibrated against my palms as I powered it on. I gave Quin a signal, a single nod. She raised another Dream Blaster. “On my mark,” I said, tightening my grip.

An actual, metallic, deadly-looking gun. "Um," I say carefully. "You do know that's not a regular car accessory, right?" Bellamy glances over, then he picks it up. "This?" Before I can answer, he clicks something. There's a metallic sound, and my heart literally stops— click... A tiny flame bursts from the barrel. Cora screams. I nearly die. Eve doesn't even blink. Bellamy just chuckles, flipping it shut again. "Relax, it's a lighter."

The water spout, as wild and powerful as a tornado, crashed down, snuffing out the flames instantly. Gasps of astonishment rippled through the crowd. Rendok's face turned pale with shock. "I'm no ordinary werewolf. I guess you didn't do your research," Blaze said, his voice dripping with mockery and contempt. Blaze raised his hands, and from his palms, brilliant light beams shot out, piercing through the air with deadly precision. The dragons became targets in his deadly game, each beam striking with unerring accuracy.

On hearing our conversation, Luna tried to escape through the door, but stopped and turned towards us like she was controlled. Suddenly, her joints began dislocation and popping out of her skin as horrid screaming filled the room, giving me goosebumps. "It's this also the way he plans to kill me?" I asked myself. When the scream stopped, all that was left were bones and a pool of blood, and in all this he never turned in her direction, only looking at me. "Are you satisfied with the revenge?" It was not a question to be answered. But deep down I was more than satisfied.
