I decided to stay at the stairs, seeing that everyone uses the elevator, so I was sure no one would pass here, and I wouldn't be disturbed. I sat on the stairs and stared at the book. "Lycanthropy" I read it out loud, with the reaction the president had given when he saw the book, I was certain he had read the book, even Bronte seemed to have read it, if the book was so popular I guess it's going to be worth reading, although it looked old. I was about to open the book when a brown bag fell on the book, I looked up and saw Dalton. I groaned "are you here to apologise or taunt me," I asked glaring at him.

As he was walking away, the lady then asked him, “If you don’t mind… do you want to sit at the same table then.” “Are you sure? There are-” “No, I- I insist… Since this corner of the café is the best spot to read, I always sit here, I don’t mind sharing it with you.: “Ah sure, that spot was something I had my eye on since earlier.” Kayne replied. “AH, REALLY, let’s share it then!” Both were really awkward at each other at first but when they found out that both were reading the same book, they eventually got a comfortable to talk at each other.

It was quiet, almost sacred, with sunlight streaming through the large windows and rows of books inviting me to lose myself in their worlds. I wandered through the aisles aimlessly until I stumbled across a section on business biographies. My fingers hovered over the spines until I spotted one that looked familiar: Against All Odds: The Rise of Evan Bennett. I pulled the book from the shelf, my heart racing. I hadn't known a biography about him existed. The cover featured a candid photo of Evan, his piercing eyes staring directly at the camera.

"What are you doing?" "Erh. Claire. I..how are you? What are you doing so late?" She stuttered. "I should be asking you why you're coming in so late ma'am. You left us alone. We were worried about you" I said. "The Library was locked, I had to wait a bit" she responded. "I am sorry if I kept you waiting," she said. She looked into her bag and brought out two books: Beyond Pardon by Bertha Clay and The Day of The Jackal by Frederick Forsyth. "These books would make my week, I had to wait to get them" she curved a quick smile.

After a moment of intentional scrolling, I saw that she was obsessed with one book in particular. The Great Gatsby. I felt my interest pique, and before I could stop myself, I shot a quick text to the family's personal secretary; “Get me a copy of The Great Gatsby before nightfall tomorrow, Jones.” “On it, sir.” His response came in instantly, but I didn’t spare it a second glance as I threw the phone to the side and focused on my original.

I snorted quietly. “Someone very committed to a niche audience.”

A tall wardrobe that stood mostly empty on my side. As I closed the door behind me, silence settled in.
