I asked, turning to the other woman, who pulled down her hood. She was glowing a soft white, and her skin was the color of the moon, her eyes pitch black. She wore a thick silver crown that bore the different cycles of the moon. The full moon at the front of her head, “It’s been some time since I have seen you, child.” The woman’s voice was echoed, a mix between a man’s and a woman’s voice. “You’ve grown so much… I can’t wait to see you lead our people into the era of the light and out of the era of darkness.” “What do you mean? I’m dead?”

A smile curved on Irma’s lips as she watched her child staring at the moon with so much fascination in her eyes. “Did something eat the other half of the moon, Mother?” Her daughter stood up and cupped her cheeks. “We should search for it and give it back to the moon goddess. She must be crying right now!” “Oh, dear.” She caught her daughter’s hands and brought them to her lips. Irma kissed her knuckles one by one, then her cheeks, and lastly, the tip of her daughter’s nose. “It’s not missing. It’s the phase of the moon, dear.”

But then I glue my eyes on him, deciding to take whatever answer he provides. He sighs. Then breathes slowly. He leans back and cranes his neck to look up at the night sky. It isn’t a full moon, it’s in its waxing gibbous phase right now. A little over a half-moon. It gives the dark sky and our surroundings enough light. Cillian still does not respond. His fists clench. He gazes up at the moon, and at me. I see the exact moment his wolf is about to emerge.

Then the clouds came. The second the sun was hiding behind the clouds, the loudest shriek Liam had ever heard in his life erupted from behind him. He turned, but he was too slow. A figure in a black cloak had grabbed him and lifted him a solid foot from the ground. It’s hands were cold, clammy, and strong. Liam struggled to breathe, crying out in pain. He could feel his neck being crushed under the weight of this...creature’s...strength, and he kicked and struggled as hard as he could. Liam could hear the sounds of the townsfolk fleeing, knocking over chairs and each other to get away from the cloaked figure. Liam took a second to look into it’s eyes, determined to see who was attacking him.

Ameliah asked…. He continued staring at his palm, there was a crescent carved on it. He showed it to Ameliah who stared at it confused… “What’s that thing?” Ameliah asked… “This signifies that the blue moon is near. When this crescent that’s carved in my palm will be full that’s the day of the blue moon” He explained. Ameliah stared at him with a surprise expression. She cupped his cheeks which made him to look at her… “Everything will be fine Stephen, you’ll save your people. I have faith in you” Ameliah said..

I watched her relax and felt a pulse of gratefulness through our bond and all of a sudden whatever I had said was completely worth it. "Thank you, Jasp..." She whispered. Great Mother Moon Goddess her voice was like heaven to my ears. It was the finest melody that had been fine tuned to reach my heart and squeeze. I watched her giggle and noticed that she had been trifling in my mind a second ago. I smiled and began walking closer, "The things you do to me." I say, and she repeats what I said back to me, but with a sultry tone, "The things you do to me~" I stopped dead in my tracks and clenched my fists, if she didn't stop talking like that we would have problems. Big, hard, aching problems.

Amara's POV The moon, a heavy, swollen orb of molten gold, hung in the ink-black sky, radiating an almost sentient glow. It felt less like a celestial body and more like a silent, all-knowing presence, aware of the profound, sacred event that was about to unfold. Its luminescence streamed through the large window of the guest chamber, painting the familiar room in hues of silver and shadow.

He stood near the mic and tapped into it twice before speaking. "Welcome everyone to the annual championship game. This event is going to start just exactly as the moon comes up..."
