I grab the menu from the table and head back to the counter, mentally reminding myself to stay patient. As I prepare the latte, the steam from the milk fills the air, mixing with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. I pour the creamy mixture into a ceramic cup, crafting a delicate pattern on the surface. With a practiced hand, I place the latte on a tray and make my way back to the girl’s table. Just as I set the cup down, the cafe door swings open once again, and an involuntary growl escapes my lips.
