A massive room opened up before her, nearly twice the size of any she’d seen in the house. Neon lighting glowed from above, and the air buzzed with energy. Along the far wall stood vintage arcade machines, flashing with pixelated games. In another corner, a sleek black pool table gleamed under hanging lights. A massive console setup lined the wall, complete with multiple screens and every gaming console imaginable. There was even a racing simulator with two full car seat rigs.

I could spend hours playing games, and it also helped in clearing my mind when I wasn't feeling too good. Actually, I had no complex thoughts at the moment. Even what happened earlier no longer affected me that much, and all I wanted to do was just... play. "Did something happen today?" Abel asked, his tone soft and warm.
