I roar ferociously in my Lycan form before I black out and fall to the floor. Slave Startled, I wake up from the smell of cedarwood. It’s the most amazing scent I have smelt. My nerves instantly calm as I continue to breathe in the scent. Suddenly I hear a group of men arguing outside. Alpha Tate, Sam and four other pack members struggle to carry something down the stairs and toward the cell. I squint my eyes to see, and my mouth drops open in horror. It’s the Lycan! And he is massive! At least seven feet tall, maybe more, his chest is broad, and his muscles are huge. He is covered in shiny black fur.

And like that, we were in front of my quarters at the east end of the long walkway. “Let’s get in,” he said. “Wow, a huge flat screen television, and is that a game console?” he asked, with a hint of excitement. “Yeah, it is a Playbox series R pro infinity edition” “What the heck is that!? What type of naming sense is that?” he replied, laughing hysterically. “Okay now, let’s get to class”. Then he said; “System, take us to the realm of infinity.”

My mare, a sleek silver-gray horse named Lira, waited beside him, already saddled and bridled. Before mounting, Alexandro turned to me again, his expression more serious than before. "This won’t be easy, Serena," he said quietly. "You will see things that will haunt you. Blood. Death. War is not glorious. It’s ugly. It’s cruel." He reached out, brushing a stray lock of hair from my face. "But you are not weak," he said. "You are not fragile. You are stronger than you know. You wouldn’t be standing here if you weren’t."

It's just natural to be anxious since you love the person, and you don't want to lose them.”

"What did you say? You want Karen to give me conservative treatment?!" Frank Myer stared at me in disbelief, lowering his voice as he grit his teeth. "Janet, are you crazy?! Karen has always worked in admin; she doesn't even know how to treat patients. Are you trying to get me killed by letting her treat me?" I immediately raised my voice and shot back, "What? Are you saying Karen can’t give any treatment at all? Then, how is she qualified to run for chief?"
