Karina Beginning of June Months ago when I accepted a request for a message from Mason Harrison on the dating app I'd recently signed up for; I couldn't have imagined this was where I'd be. Standing in his driveway, fighting to hold back tears as Caleb, the child I never knew I wanted, prepares to leave for college. Beside me, Mason is tense as we try to avert our eyes from the heartbreaking scene going on in front of us. Caleb is leaving for the University of Alabama today, and Jess leaves for Ole Miss two days from now. I'm not sure what the future holds for the couple, but it'll be almost impossible with them both on scholarships, to be able to keep their relationship going.

He always thinks that people reach out to him for the benefits he could give them. I can attribute this strange behavior to his upbringing. Coming from a broken family must also played its part. Caleb paused, and I felt the weight of his hesitation. "But we found out something."

Yvonne drank half a glass of water and said slowly, "You can pretend not to know about this. I don't need your help." "The person you're going up against is Stephen. Northerna City is even his territory. You—" Caleb saw Yvonne's death glare and immediately shut up. He shrugged helplessly. Fine, perhaps the great Ms. Y didn't need his help with ideas. He casually took a glance at Yvonne's abdomen. It wasn't going to be easy to hide such a huge secret. … Caleb was still in his thoughts as he left Miller Tower. He bumped into Xavier, not even noticing the latter's presence until he'd blocked Caleb's path.

Natalie’s gaze fell on the coffee table behind her, where a framed photo of Kennedy and Kade sat. The rest of the house also bore the signs of someone living alone. Kennedy’s face flushed as she shouted angrily, “Get out.” As she spoke, she tried to force the door closed to drive Natalie away. Natalie let out a faint scoff, easily twisted Kennedy’s wrist to push the door open, and said coldly, “You are also a member of the Sombra Organization.” Kennedy was startled, then smiled. “What does that have to do with you?”

"I figured you would tell me when you are ready.' Let's see if you are this cool when I dropped the bomb on you. I smirked as I looked at him. "It's about Caleb." He didn't even flinch. "You finally decided to go after him." Oh, I decided to go after him, father, but not in the way that you expect. "I found his whereabouts and you wouldn't believe what he has been up to." "Oh, tell me already, boy and stop being cryptic." I smiled, prepared to shock him. "He is close by, living with soldiers of the blood moon pack and probably conspiring against us."

Three days isn't enough time for her to get someone to copy Derek's face! I calmly sipped my tea. "Caleb had to fly to Naveryork for a meeting yesterday. He'll rush over here as soon as he lands." Mom's eyes lit up instantly when she heard that. "He sounds busy. What does he do?" Caleb had always kept a low profile, so aside from the few companies under his name, I honestly didn't know much about what he did. "He just works at his own company." They exchanged a smirk upon hearing that. "The Ingram family… Never heard of them. Could it be that you didn't even have the time to come up with a proper background?"
