Even though she doesn't speak I am able to know that she is anxious about this situation too. Not knowing what else to do, I decide to take him to his room. It takes a while before I can get him there, to be honest, I don't really know where his room is. I just follow my nose and track the place that his scent is more intense. My anxiety slowly fades away when I remember who he is. A god. And he won't let this flimsy curse end him, right? No, he can't or I'll torture him. "Isabella." I gasp when he calls my name. His eyes slowly opens to me. "What are you doing?"

I yell till my screams bring me back to reality. My eyes open and I examine the unfamiliar environment that I am in. A man with brown hair is sitting beside me and looking at me intently. “Are you okay?” He asks when our eyes meet. “Yes but, where am I?” I ask and he smiles. “You’re in the human world, Miss Isabel Moon.”

I read it twice. Every line was precise. Efficient. Controlled. Exactly the way Isabella operated. She had walked into that room alone. Faced Samuel directly. And forced the board to choose. She was changing clothes in the fitting room when she received a call from an unfamiliar number. After hesitating for two seconds, she answered the call. "Isabella." It was a cold and familiar voice on the other end. Isabella narrowed her eyes slightly and opened her mouth, "Amelia." Amelia said, her voice chilling, "Let's meet!" Isabella replied coldly, "No, we won't."

His question repeated itself in my head as I blinked, looking up at him. “What?” I whispered, but I was speaking more to myself than anyone. Would I rather be dead? Forgotten? Abandoned? Malakai’s green eyes held mine. He didn’t blink, nor did he look away. “Would you rather be dead, Isabella?” His voice was low and serious. That was when I asked myself. Would I rather let my life be stolen from me?

“You don’t just show up like this. Not unless something’s wrong.” Kael’s expression remained inscrutable, a mask that concealed any trace of his turmoil. “I need to speak with Isla. Alone.” Priya’s eyes narrowed, defiance flickering like a flame in her gaze. “Not happening.” Isla opened her mouth to protest, uncertainty clawing at her throat, but Kael’s phone suddenly buzzed, slicing through the thick tension at their table. He glanced at the screen, the urgency in his demeanour sharpening. “Go.”

I asked as I whirled around in the murky darkness. Isabella I began crying, running towards that voice. Where are you, Nathan? I miss you. Please take me out of here. There was nothing but silence. I called out again.

“It is the law older than kings. When called, the Council of Flame demands all bloodlines gather—Elders included. There, we speak. And their judgment is passed not by fire, but by the people.” Arthur nodded. “Then let’s summon the council. Let the Hollow decide.” Isabella stepped forward, took the scroll, and raised her voice to the skies: “I, Isabella of the Flame, child of fire, bearer of the altar’s last name—call the Council of Flame. Let the Elders come. Let the Hollow rise.” Lightning split the sky. The world shifted. The end had begun. ------
