Caelum’s hand tightened slightly at my back, grounding, while Elias’s magic hovered close, steady but not intrusive. Lucien didn’t say anything, but I could feel him there, sharp and focused in a way that anchored just as much as the others.
Another contraction hit, and this time I followed it fully.
“Now,” the midwife said. “Push.”
I did.
