Roy took odd jobs wherever he could and ended up back in the old rental apartment where we had once lived together. The place hadn't changed. Each tenant was given a bed and a bookshelf. On the shelf sat the calendar we had sold together years ago. Despite the apartment having gone through many tenants, the little calendar charm still remained. Roy flipped through it page by page. Anniversaries were marked with red hearts, so were his birthdays and the days we were supposed to meet each other's parents. But before any of that could happen, we broke up. Roy stared at the calendar, crowded with reminders of himself, and his eyes grew watery.

My body was crawling once again with delicious sparks I felt whenever I touched Callan. His strawberry shortcake smell was like happiness filtering in through my nose and I could feel myself getting lost in him. "You scared me so much Anaïs" Callan said as he stroked my hair gently.
