Calling Siren Head Novels & Stories

The flames lit his eyes as he stood again, this time with his whole body shaking. He'd realized the damage he had done and it opened his eyes as he made an attempt to run back somewhere as he heard the sound of approaching sirens. His eyes still whirled from jumping out of a vehicle as he waved it off, staggering. 'Kat' He had tried to call in his mind as he limped. 'Kat' He made his way away from the disaster. And soon, tears had welled up in his eyes as the sirens drew nearer. He had no idea what he was to do.

The game was on, and I was ready to play. I dialled the number of the head of security, my fingers trembling slightly as I pressed each digit. The events of the evening had left me on edge, and I knew I couldn’t let any loose ends remain untied. The phone rang twice before he picked up. "Yes, Miss Aria?" his voice was steady, professional, as always.

“Three minutes.” Without hesitation, the driver reached for the small red alarm device, attached it to the top of the SUV, and pressed the switch. The siren blared instantly, loud and commanding, echoing through the traffic. The cars ahead began to move aside one by one, giving way. With a sudden burst, the SUV shot forward, slicing through the jammed road as other vehicles cleared the path. The sound of the siren rolled ahead of them, and the city lights blurred into streaks as they sped down the expressway.

The coordinator is currently calling the lead asset's line. Patch the audio signal directly through to the device's external speaker, Vivienne's clear, majestic voice commanded over the secure digital link. Let her hear the result of her investment. Executing patch now, the operative said, pressing a command sequence on the smartphone before dropping it onto the ground directly in front of Mick and Sly's bleeding faces. The call connected automatically, and Cynthia's sharp, impatient voice blared loudly through the speaker.

50 thousand dollars vanished in an instant. "Ding! Reload successful." Fresh air rushed back into the room. I gulped it down greedily, tears and snot streaming down my face. The feeling of having my life in someone else's hands was unbearable. I had to call the police. I huddled in the corner and dialed 911 with trembling fingers. The call wouldn't go through. A red X appeared in the signal bar at the top of my phone screen, showing there was no signal. The entire house seemed to be blocked off from the outside world.

All this time she was so frightened out of her wits. “Fine...” Victor rolled his eyes. Possessive freak!!! All of a sudden, the whole mansion began buzzing with the sound of alert siren diverting their attention. It was from the security installed and whenever it detects any active bomb implanted inside the mansion then the siren buzzed in alert mode.

Soren fumbles with what looks like a radio, glancing at scribbled ink written on the palm of his hand. “Are we really going on one of those?” He nods then picks up a receiver, speaking directly into it, “This is Soren. Helena said you’d be waiting for me and a female passenger.” He waits, his eyes on the closest tram, scanning the platform like something is going to jump out and attack us, right here, right now. An unfamiliar male voice replies through the static, confirming they heard him, then walking him through how to start it up. In a matter of seconds, the platform explodes with flickering light and the grinding of gears, and then Soren is stuffing me into the tram, shutting the door,

Steel and Hellfire are watching over Wendy’s shoulder to monitor the outside perimeter. “Can you zoom in?” Councilwoman Rebecca asks me. “Only so much. We still have too much area that isn't connected here in the dead zone,” I tell her. Through the earbuds, I hear Siren say she’s got her father’s scent. “Stay with the squad, Siren,” Raptor growls. “He doesn’t get away this time,” she growls back. “We’ve got movement outside the vans,” Wendy says. “How many?” I ask, seeing Steel lean over Wendy from the corner of my eye.

He activated a secure internal comms line to a deep-site location. "Cassandra! Status report! They found the perimeter." Cassandra’s voice was instantaneous, laced with panic. "Benjamin, we tracked a massive data spike. They triangulated the location of the Siren the moment you brought the comms online! They're coming by sea! Get out of there now!" Benjamin shoved the flash drive into a hidden slot in the dashboard. He grabbed a heavy-duty, marine-grade life vest and clipped it around me, his eyes locked on the cabin door.

My ears are ringing, my hair is soaked, and I’m trying to cover my face while blindly fumbling with the controls. “Velara?” Damon’s voice calls from outside the door. “How do I turn this off!” I shout in panic. “The blue dial!” he answers. Of course it’s the blue one.
