Rhea's POV I looked nervously at Adrian as we sat in his garden. "Be calm. Nothing would happen," he said reassuringly. I nodded at him and took a deep breath, trying to relax. Then I closed my eyes and followed his instructions from last time. This time, even though I was nervous before beginning, it was easier to calm myself and fall into the rhythm. I realised that the gemstone bracelet was reducing my anxiety and providing me with a sense of wellbeing. I thanked Mercy and Adrian in my mind for giving it to me. Then I stopped thinking at all and just relaxed. After a while, my breathing slowed down, and I felt peaceful.

I was starting to freak out at this point. “Remain calm sweetie. He’s just saying those things to get us in the gate to safety without alerting the intruder. Here let me see if I can help you.” I felt this cooling wave wash over my entire body, almost immediately relaxing me. I was still aware of what was going on, but it did ease that knot in the pit of my stomach. I was able to breathe again, and my heart rate was coming back down to normal. “Thank you Koa. I had no idea wolves could do that for their human counter parts.”

I called, she didn’t need to reply as I heard the retching coming from behind a cubicle door. I pushed open the door to find Luna on her knees with her head over the toilet. I kneeled behind her and began to rub her back in a small circular motion. Luna lifted her head, tears strolling down her face. I pulled her into my chest and held her close, listening to her soft cries. “It’s OK moon, I’m here, everything is going to be OK” I reassured her. Suddenly she pulled away from me standing up, wiping the tears from her face.

With each cautious step backwards, I carve out the space I desperately need, the distance mirrored in his anxious gaze. "Bambi," he warns softly, a hint of urgency in his voice. "I just need space. I need to breathe," I insist, my words tumbling out like waves crashing against the shore. To calm my racing heart, I lower myself onto the soft, golden grains of sand, sinking my toes into the warmth the sun generously spreads beneath me. The gentle sound of the rolling waves provides a soothing backdrop, momentarily easing my turbulent thoughts.

My whole body tenses and shakes. “Andras. Andras, honey. Calm down. Look at me and breath.” Bronwen tells me, forcing me to meet her eyes once more. “Look at me.” I nod, staring into her eyes. “Breathe. Slowly. Take a small breath in then let a big breath out.” She tells me in a soft, calming voice imitating the motions. My attention is drawn to the slight pucker of her lips, the throbbing pulse in her neck before focusing on the rise and fall of her perfect chest. I feel myself calming down as a little of my anxiety melts away.

The scent that was all over the place was so captivating that I thought everything stopped and only me and whoever owned that scent mattered. The scent possesses a unique ability to soothe and calm my senses, evoking a sense of tranquility and relaxation. As I sniffed a delicate aroma gently wafting through the air, it remarkably alleviated tension, eased anxiety and promoted a feeling of inner peace. Its comforting fragrance offers solace and comfort in moments of stress or restlessness. The scent has the power to create a sanctuary of calmness, inviting me to unwind and embrace moments of tranquility amidst the chaos of everyday life.

The contact is familiar in a way that makes no sense and yet feels inevitable. The noise around me dulls. Laughter, music, the shuffle of shoes on polished marble, all of it slides into the background like someone turned the volume down without asking. Calm hits me all at once. Not slowly. Not cautiously. It settles into me like it has always known where to sit. The sharp edges inside me smooth out.
