Thoughts will come, and that’s okay, but let them come and then let them go. It’s natural to feel a variety of emotions as well, it’s okay, but don’t let them disrupt your focus. Just like thoughts, let them come and let them go. Now you can close your eyes or focus on a specific point, that’s up to you.”

Although he couldn't speak to me directly, a part of me was able to tell exactly what he was thinking. He wanted me to calm myself down. I didn't know exactly how to do that, but the only thing that felt right was closing my eyes. Once my eyes were closed, I tried to take deep, calming breaths. I tried to reconnect with my human self through relaxation, sensation, and emotion. In one deep breath, I focused on the rhythmic thumping of my heart, the rise and fall of my lungs, the sensation of my feet moving with purpose, and the memory of how my toes and fingers could wiggle.

"They are…" I gave me a disappointed look, shook his head before continuing, "There's no point calling it's name, you wouldn't even remember it." I rolled my eyes at him, "They help keep beings calm and collected. Meaning, you can't get angry or over react when you're inhaling their fregrance. That's what's keeping me from yelling at you and making me to reason with you." "Why did you plant such a flower?"

She stared into his eyes and he kept murmuring words of encouragement, his voice low, meant to be calming. "You're going to focus on something easy to see. Stay calm, and use meditation as your guide, just like we've been practicing. Calm your breathing. Remember you're not in the vision, you may be able to feel it, but it can't hurt you. You're safe, here with me."

Willow said gently, her hand following me as I circled the room. “This will only make it worse if you fight it. Calm down. Let it come naturally. Then you can… sit inside ice water to ease the burning.” I sank back onto the couch, trying to steady my ragged breathing. Artemis’ voice echoed softly inside my mind, soothing yet firm. “She’s right. Calm down, Serena.” I nodded, exhaling shakily. “Okay… I’ve heard you. Thanks,” I whispered. My fingers gripped the edge of the cushion, and I forced myself to slow my breathing, to focus on something else besides the heat, the panic, the rising urgency inside me.

A voice that didn’t sound like my own. “Breathe,” I said, and the air around me seemed to still. The trembling slowed. Callen’s breath began to even out. The crowd grew silent. Even the healer froze, her hands midway through grabbing a salve. Callen’s eyes fluttered open. He didn’t snarl. He didn’t flinch. He just looked at me… calmly. “Sleep now,” I whispered. “Let her help you.” And he did. His body sagged into the ground, chest rising and falling in a slow rhythm. He closed his eyes, completely calm. Completely still.

I pull back and try to get Rebel to focus on my voice. “Rebel, darling. Can you hear me? Open your eyes sweetheart.” I say gently, cooing her. I keep repeating ‘I love you’ and ‘you’re safe’ softly in her ears, trying to calm her down with kisses to her forehead. After a few more minutes, I breathe a sigh of relief as I see her start to calm down and her breathing even out. She buries her head in my neck and inhales my scent to help calm her down. Cronos is purring, but he is furious.

I remained stoic, my body rigid with an icy demeanor. His voice was low and soothing as he spoke, "Artemis, I want you to be calm." He appeared to be yearning for peace at this very moment. My mind is a chaotic storm, a tempest of problems threatening to consume me. I'm tired of the constant shouting, the never-ending cycle of frustration and anger.

The deep rumble of the command washes over me and I feel my skin go back to normal my gums don’t hurt anymore I am not sure about my eyes but I feel the instant calm, my breathing slows to a normal pattern and the steady beat from the shower is again lulling me to sleep. I feel the water shut off and then I am passed around and wrapped into a towel, I feel someone drying me and whispering sweet nothings into my ear when I am suddenly engulfed into warmness. I sigh at the feeling of protective calmness, the scent of all three of my mates soothes the animal inside me. ***

I whispered pacing back and forth. Cold hands clasped my shoulder, I whipped my head around, with a scream clogged in my throat. I was met with a devastating gray eyes, that reflected the moon, I watched as it turned into a deep red eyes. “Start by calming yourself down little mouse,” kael moaned in my ear. His voice was like an instant soothing balm, it vibrated through my body, releasing all the built in tensions. “Breath, little mouse,” I sucked in my breath, then exhaled. I did it over four times.
