I am so out of it that I just nod my head I hear them all talking but nothing is making sense at the moment. I am sure I hear one of them say this isn’t going to work. I feel Luca’s aura slip out and it has me instantly whimpering. The other guys I think are trying to reassure me that’s all going to be okay, “Stop shifting” The deep rumble of the command washes over me and I feel my skin go back to normal my gums don’t hurt anymore I am not sure about my eyes but I feel the instant calm, my breathing slows to a normal pattern and the steady beat from the shower is again lulling me to sleep.

I started, as I opened my mouth to speak but my words were enmassed in a jumble as they stumbled out by themselves, "Breathe... Calmly..." She said, taking in my consternation, her eyes were intently fixated on mine, and was like an expeller, as she demonstrated the act herself, somehow I managed to catch my breath, following her instructions which sowed a seed of calmness in me,

He looked like a guy who had worked all day and was tired. He didn't look like a Reaper. He didn't look like a ghost. He looked like a husband. "Cale?" Elion whispered. Cale turned. There was a bit of foam on his lip. "Yeah?" Cale asked. "You okay? Is it too loud?" Cale licked the foam away. He looked around the room. At the neon signs. At the laughing men. At the TV screens. "I am... calibrated," Cale said. "What does that mean?" "It means the static is gone," Cale said. "The noise of the bar... it is just noise. It is not a threat. It is just life happening."

This tremor is something that doesn’t want to leave me! I filled the bathtub with warm water, adding a few drops of lavender essential oil for its calming properties. As I sank into the water, the tension in my body began to melt away. The scent of the lavender filled the air, creating a peaceful ambiance. Closing my eyes, I allowed the water to embrace me, washing away the worries and uncertainties that had been plaguing my mind.

Faruq’s nausea came not only from the stench. “Resofa,” I breathed. Faruq’s breathing halted for a quick second, and Khorasa shot me a panicked look. I nodded assuringly and then slowed Faruq’s racing heart in the next breath with a “slosena, din resofa.” The pause spell lifted and Faruq’s panic attack eased into gasps. As if he was thirsty for water. I waved over a couple of maids and they helped him to his feet, taking him to the wall, where they dabbed at his face and comforted him accordingly.

The coldness that was present in his voice sent a shiver through me as well and I realized that I had come to a conclusion too soon; Cain wasn’t changing now or ever. ‘Mate, i am sorry but I have gotten too worked up. I am really angry right now.’ I heard Cain’s voice in my head startle me as I felt heat emanate form his body. ‘What’s wrong?’ asked worried if he had caught fever. ‘I need to calm down, my wolf is agitated about your safety, and you need to assure him that everything is fine.’ ‘How should I do that?’ When I asked him that his eyes glint and with a small smile he said, ‘Please make love to us.’

A voice that didn’t sound like my own. “Breathe,” I said, and the air around me seemed to still. The trembling slowed. Callen’s breath began to even out. The crowd grew silent. Even the healer froze, her hands midway through grabbing a salve. Callen’s eyes fluttered open. He didn’t snarl. He didn’t flinch. He just looked at me… calmly. “Sleep now,” I whispered. “Let her help you.” And he did. His body sagged into the ground, chest rising and falling in a slow rhythm. He closed his eyes, completely calm. Completely still.

“Believe me, I can help you.” For a few seconds, Caelum’s eyes meet mine, a brief and simple moment, but I feel a wave of calm wash over my body as it happens. If it’s some spell Caelum is casting on me, I have no idea, but I’m grateful for the feeling amid the chaos that has settled.

She stared at Rafael with teary eyes, almost crying. "Yeah, we're going home. But before you go home, you have to calm down first.” He smiled. This time, it wasn't the seductive smile he had when he asked permission to kiss her a few moments ago, nor was it the mocking smile he usually gave when making jokes. Rafael smiled serenely. He channeled his calm to Cheryl, who was almost crying because of a panic attack. Her therapist once said that she should try to move her toes after taking a breath. Even if she could, she should start getting up and walking around to calm down.

I can only hope that she keeps that throughout her life. Little Eva is Calista’s mini me. Calista is constantly spending time with her. Every time someone is upset around her, she crawls into their lap on instinct then snuggles up close with them. The feeling when she does that is calming beyond words. Even when she’s not in our laps, she is constantly emitting her calming waves. Her waves are so strong that we had to cast a spell on her so that her waves would never go any farther than the room we were in. That will help keep anyone who might seek her out for nefarious purposes away.
