She lay down on the bank, letting the cool water soothe her. As she lay there, she felt her anger start to dissipate. The sound of the water and the rustling of leaves was like a lullaby, and she found herself calming down. Her senses, heightened by her anger, became more acute, and she could smell the scent of pine and the sound of birds singing. She closed her eyes, and for a moment, she felt at peace.

I left as if leaving would solve our problems rather than talking solving our problems like we always did. "How?" He asked, genuinely concerned for her and it made me feel further shitty. I had never exposed this to anymore, held the detail to myself. She didn't know herself how I calmed her down. "Just look into her eyes." I dabbed my lower lip. "Tell her you're here and she's strong. Call her bookworm. She loves that name. It distracts her mind. Don't forget smiling at her and chuckling because she will put a funny remark. She calms down."

She pushes the basket, “Ok let’s look at the isle signs, to see where everything is. And start with more jugs of water.” The isle with water is nearly bare, only a few jugs left. Melody quickly grabs them, as they move on down their list. “Mom, flashlights and batteries are next on our list.” Leo mentions with authority. “We will find, flashlights and batteries.” Melody glances around in a rushed manner as if the hurricane will appear while they’re at the store. He slowly strokes my hair to help me calm down. “That's it. Good girl.” He praises me again.

I was starting to freak out at this point. “Remain calm sweetie. He’s just saying those things to get us in the gate to safety without alerting the intruder. Here let me see if I can help you.” I felt this cooling wave wash over my entire body, almost immediately relaxing me. I was still aware of what was going on, but it did ease that knot in the pit of my stomach. I was able to breathe again, and my heart rate was coming back down to normal. “Thank you Koa. I had no idea wolves could do that for their human counter parts.”

She stared into his eyes and he kept murmuring words of encouragement, his voice low, meant to be calming. "You're going to focus on something easy to see. Stay calm, and use meditation as your guide, just like we've been practicing. Calm your breathing. Remember you're not in the vision, you may be able to feel it, but it can't hurt you. You're safe, here with me."

I grumbled, stopped walking when I reached the front of the waterfall. "Huh, I ended up here again. This is the only place for me to calm myself down," I said and leaned back against one of the trees, my eyes staring closely at the waterfall, which sounded quite like heavy rain. My therapist had realized it helps replace my bitter memories with music especially jazz. She provided me with a lot of such music from her collection to calm my nerves . Every time someone is upset around her, she crawls into their lap on instinct then snuggles up close with them. The feeling when she does that is calming beyond words. Even when she’s not in our laps, she is constantly emitting her calming waves. Her waves are so strong that we had to cast a spell on her so that her waves would never go any farther than the room we were in. That will help keep anyone who might seek her out for nefarious purposes away.
