Cameron was quiet as we walked back toward the dorms, his hand brushing mine occasionally but not fully holding it, like he was still halfway inside his thoughts, replaying every second of what had happened and trying to figure out where the cracks were.
“You’re spiraling again,” I said gently, bumping my shoulder against his.
He glanced at me with a faint, tired smile. “I am not spiraling, I am analyzing.”
“That is just spiraling with confidence,” I replied.
He huffed softly, but the humor did not quite reach his eyes.
