“I don’t want you, Lilith. You’re nothing but the price the Moon demanded and I’ll pay it. But you’ll never touch me.” Her smirk faltered just for a second before she straightened her shoulders. “We’ll see,” she said softly. “The Moon has strange ways of making its will known.” The torches flickered, as if the air itself exhaled. The silence between us thickened. I turned away, walking to the mirror where my reflection stared back haunted, unreadable. I undid my collar, the mark of the bond faintly glowing beneath my skin. Lilith’s gaze followed me, cold and thoughtful. “You can fight me all you want,” she said. “But you can’t fight fate.”

Huga replied calmly but his wand was already moving to send an attack. Creos smirked and quickly threw Raizel's spirit in the vortex he created, then took his halberd and deflect the coming attack. "Sorry, kid. Fate will decide your life, there's just isn't enough time." The man closed the vortex, but before it closed completely, she heard him whispered, "Chase it, kid. Chase the ordinary life you want." And then black out.

He asked turning the table. "I know why I'm fighting! To take what's rightfully mine as an heir to the throne of Zulcan! Alexa had everything and I had nothing almost dying before I was able to walk, she will know what hardship and pain are!" Rufus answered the sorcerer with his fist closed. "I'll lock up that Lycan of her, and I'll make him watch while I ride her! Then I'll make her work in the mines while I torture him!" "I have a spell to catch and tie the Lycan. I'll use it, once we start the battle! Then it'll be up to you. Your men are ready to attack?"

There was still this tiny ember buried deep within me, flickering through the storm. A part of me- small, almost drowned out by desire- that still wanted to fight. To fight him. To fight fate. To fight whatever cursed destiny said I had to belong to Zander King. But I just... couldn't. There was nothing left in me. No strength. No voice. No escape. Just fear. Just exhaustion. Just him- hovering over me.

I scoffed. "You cannot fight fate. No matter how hard you try. So count your losses and try to make a life for yourself. A life that I took from you in my cruelty." "No!" I snapped back. "Just because you were weak does not mean that I am. I am nothing like you. I will end up like you." "Eva—"

How am I holding up, knowing the man I love is facing untold dangers while I sit here, powerless? I sigh, a mix of frustration and resignation coloring my tone. “I feel... powerless, Caleb. It’s ironic, isn’t it? Being a Fate and yet feeling like I can’t do anything to change the course of events.” “You’re not powerless, Chloe Jane. Being a Fate, that’s a significant role. The threads you weave, the lives you touch—they matter, more than you might realize.” The reminder stings, a bitter acknowledgment of a destiny I still struggle to comprehend. “Yeah, powers that let me see things but not change them. Sometimes, I wonder if it’s more of a curse.”

The bodyguards dragged me roughly out of the hospital and threw me into the cold mud outside. Heavy rain poured down, smashing against my twisted body. This was the most remote slum in Neopolis. Homeless people die on these streets every day. I struggled to open my eyes. Rain hit my eyelids, twisting everything in my vision into a blur. Facing death once again, my heart suddenly became calm. Being reborn wasn’t to defy fate, but to let me experience once more, clearly and deeply, what it meant to have ten thousand arrows pierce the heart and be torn apart piece by piece.
