The glow collapsed into my skin until it looked almost ordinary.
Almost invisible.
A laugh escaped me - small, startled, alive.
On the back of my palm the particles gathered without my asking, curling into a shape I didn’t recognize. Lines crossed and bent, forming a word I had never been taught yet somehow knew.
