“You look… trapped.” Tears burned my eyes, but I shook my head. “Not here. Please. He’s watching.” Andrew reached for my hand, just for a second, his fingers brushing mine. The warmth of his touch nearly undid me. But then a shadow stretched across the hallway. Arrow. His expression was calm, almost pleasant. I aimed for Killian’s head with the arrow but the captain of the Alpha breaks the arrow into pieces with his sword before it could get to Killian. “Are you out of your mind!” Killian yelled and growled in my direction.

Several arrows found their mark, piercing the commander's feet as it took to the air. Before the Merlock commander could grasp the situation, a wave of excruciating pain overwhelmed his senses. The arrows, typically incapable of breaching his formidable defenses as a warrior of the 7th circle of the A-rank, now pierced through him effortlessly. In a swift and merciless onslaught, a barrage of arrows rained down upon him. Dozens struck his body, followed by another barrage targeting his neck and finally his head. The once formidable commander, known for his strength and stature, crumpled to the ground lifeless, devoid of any chance of survival.

Arrow said smiling devilishly making tingles go through my body. He put me down and covered my eyes. The twins led me down the hallway, I heard the door open before being pulled into a room. “Are you ready?” Arion’s voice whispered in my ear. “Yes,” I whispered barely audible even to myself. “One… Two… Three!” Arrow yelled as he took his hand from my eyes.

Even the captain grudgingly shook her hand. Violet grinned, enjoying her victory far more than she anticipated. But it was short-lived. An arrow, bone white and coated in cobalt blue powder, sunk into Captain Dana's shoulder. He fell to the ground. His men immediately formed ranks around him and the king. "Where did it come from?" By the time the military transport plane landed at the Riverdale Military Airfield, night had long since fallen. Carrying my duffel bag down the airstair, I was hit by a gust of freezing wind, thick with an unfamiliar, damp chill. "Major Tomlinson!" From a distance, an old military officer with graying hair at his temples strode over. The general stars on his epaulets gleamed softly under the lights.
