“I had my head down. I should’ve watched where I was going.”
They both reached for the same sheet at the same time. Their fingers brushed, both pulled back like they’d been shocked. Awkward laughter bubbled up between them, nervous, breathless.
“Here,” Jules said, passing her the memo he’d grabbed. “I think that’s everything.”
“Thanks,” Cameron murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Really. I’m usually not this clumsy.”
Jules helped her collect the rest, careful not to crease anything, stacking the papers neatly before handing them over. When everything was back in her arms, they stood.
