“Let’s go. There’s no way I’m eating here when this shit just happened.” Garret threw a twenty on the table before standing. “Agreed.” Jarren grabbed my hand and led the way out of the restaurant. As we approached the car, I noticed that there were only two cars in the parking lot, but the restaurant was packed. I then saw a few figures leaning against Jarren’s car. Kaileeh gasped. “When the hell did we step into the twilight zone?” she whispered. I looked at her and then followed her eyes. There beside us was the restaurant, but it was as if we were looking at it through a dream. We could see all the other people and cars, but I’d be willing to bet that they couldn’t see us.

I saw the chief warrior of the pack walking over to me and he bowed slightly before me. "What is it?" I shot a deadly form at him. "The warriors, they need to find something to drink." He said to me. My face twisted with hate and anger. They were such weaklings. I shot a stare at the tired warriors and back at him. "There is a stream a few walks away, we should go for that," I announced and we began to walk to the stream.

The old Chevy pickup rumbled to life, and he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement as he headed toward Aqua's house. The drive to her place was a blur, his mind racing with thoughts of what he would say. When he finally pulled up to her house, he parked the truck and leaned against it, waiting.
