Seeing, smelling, or hearing had been difficult too. It felt like she was coming down with the flu. A fine tune pierced the air and Cassy's heart leaped at it, eyes going about the room, searching for the source of the music. To entertain the Alphas, Lino had brought musicians. What did you major in?” “Music.” “So, you know how to sing?” “Oh, well, my family tells me I sing like a bird, but . . . “ “What did your professors say about your singing?” “The same thing,” Chelsea said bashfully. “Sounds like you can actually sing,” Cat said with a big smile. She had lovely straight teeth. So much so, Chelsea had half a mind to ask who her dentist was.

Cassie Aunt Suzette sang in a key generally reserved for cats in heat. The bar sang along, belting out the warbles and key changes along with Whitney Houston. Cassie would never hear “I Will Always Love You” the same way ever again. The song would forever be about tonight. Cassie was having a blast. The music was loud, the drinks strong, and the people fun. Everyone was singing and dancing under the glittering disco lights of the karaoke bar. Color and laughter filled the room.

He always had a reputation of being quite the playboy throughout the years, and as far as Cassandra knew, he had never married. The second set started with an upbeat song from their newest album. High energy and perfect vocals made this tune a real show stopper, and the crowd screamed for more. As the band sang some of their older songs, it took Cassandra back to her teenage years, and she still knew every lyric. She was surprised to feel those old, schoolgirl crush feelings return as the show progressed. She felt the same way tonight as she did all those years ago when she first laid eyes on Jason from her living room couch.

I reached out and took the flowers, mumbling, "You said you wanted to hug me, you wuss." Troy went still, then let go of the suitcase handle and snapped upright, lifting his arms with awkward stiffness. He set one hand at the back of my neck and the other at my waist, then gently drew me into his arms. Because of our height difference, my head rested right under his chin. His heart pounded so fast I could feel every beat against my own. Troy's hand on me tightened a little as he said, "I'm not a wuss. Say it again, and I-I will kiss you."

I quickly typed back, "Seven thousand dollars?" "Yeah," Lenny replied immediately. "Our cat is a little princess. Just imagine how jealous the other cats would be if they rode back in a Maybach." I stared at this message, still reeling in disbelief. Even I, the owner, had never ridden in a Maybach. Yet, Lenny expected me to spend seven thousand dollars so my cat could ride in one? Seeing that I didn't reply, Lenny immediately sent a voice message. "Why aren't you replying? I'm doing you a favor here."

Jake asked with a smile. Cassie nodded and took a deep breath. The large wooden doors opened, and the orchestra changed the music. Everyone stood. Nathan had tears in his eyes. Jake walked Cassie up the isle to Nathan. When they reached Nathan he kissed her cheek and placed her hand in his. Someone took Cassie's flowers as they went to stand before Elder, Jasper Stark. Cassie and Nathan recite your vows. Looking into each other eye they both said. . "Bone from my bone, flesh from my flesh. I am yours and you are mine until the end of time".

Cassandra smirked, strolling casually into the room and walking around the edges, trailing her hands along the wall as she did so. “Because that's what you fucking wolves do,” Ella suddenly snapped, “Anyone who isn’t like you, you fucking crush beneath your furry hides until they’ve either submitted to you completely or they’ve eradicated your kind from existence.” Cassandra stopped and tilted her chin arrogantly as she looked down her nose at her. “They do, don’t they.” She purred as she slowly moved a foot forward and kicked over one of the candles that had been so neatly arranged in a circle. She chuckled at the confused and angry expression on Ella’s face and smiled.
