It was a candid shot from her sophomore year of college, sitting on the steps of the library, laughing, her hair messy and her face bright with youthful, naive happiness.
But the glass of the frame had been shattered. A heavy, jagged line ran directly across her throat in the photo, and scrawled across the cracked glass in thick, black permanent marker were the words:

"He's losing his mind," Tiffany breathed, her voice trembling as she stared at the desecrated image. "Nathaniel... he’s completely unraveling."
Julian didn't look shocked. He didn't look angry. Instead, a terrifying, absolute stillness settled over his feat
