Two men stepped into the dim light of the corridor.
Behind them walked Chief Miller, the head of the precinct.
Normally, Miller was a loud, boisterous man. Right now? He looked like a terrified schoolboy.
His face was pale, beads of sweat glistening on his forehead, and his hands were visibly trembling as he held a ring of keys.
"This is him," Miller stammered, his voice unusually high-pitched. "Victor. We’ve kept him isolated just like you requested."
