“My friend Jen was talking about some private investor from Indianapolis who’s in town right now, trying to get a feel for how we do Christmas at Christmas Falls. She heard he’s considering buying a few properties and fixing them up. For what, she didn’t say, but he doesn’t seem like the sort of big, greedy corporate fair you’re trying to avoid. Maybe you should talk to him.” “Maybe you should worry about your own self,” Memory said back without turning her head, and Kirsten sighed loudly while Bryce told her to let it go, prompting Lorelei to break into the theme song from Frozen which had them all laughing, including Memory, despite her frustration at her sister’s suggestion. He looks between us for a second time, but then he nods his head slowly and starts tearing into the paper. The room goes quiet as he lifts the lid off of the box. He stares down at the onesie inside, blinking like his brain hasn’t caught up yet. He picks it up carefully and reads the words on it out loud. “Your Christmas present is on back order until July 2026. Merry Christmas, Daddy.” “Oh my god.” My mother squeals as my father and Aiden gasps loudly. “Are you serious?” She asks, but no one answers her, all of our attention still on Derek and Ava.

I can’t be seeing right. “Honey,” Dad calls, but my ears have started ringing with the amount of blood that rushes to the organs. I don’t believe in the holidays, but please Santa, please! Tell me that Orison has started a career in pornography, because I can see him on a live field, having sex with someone who isn’t me.

I asked Ace when we were out of the family sight. “You know how you missed Christmas Eve and how you miss Christmas too?” Ace opened the door to my room, “I wanted to give it to you.” My jaw dropped as I saw how beautifully decorated my room was. He had decorated the rooms with light, there was a Christmas tree and gifts under the tree. There were snacks and a projector. “It's beautiful,” I smiled as I entered the room, “Why did you do all this?” “I know I can't bring the 24th and 25th but I hope this will be okay? I also wanted to thank you for saving me,” Ace shut the door behind him.

In the end, I couldn't bear to let Noelle spend the last Christmas Eve of her life filled with regret. I searched through every office on the entire floor and finally found a female doctor about the same height as Ivana. I begged her to pretend to be Ivana. An hour later, the doctor appeared beside Noelle's bed, wearing a Santarina costume borrowed from somewhere on the street. She was holding Noelle's favorite doll. Noelle cried tears of happiness. "I knew Mommy wouldn't abandon me." I covered my mouth and pulled Noelle tightly into my arms. A nurse took a picture of our final moment together. In the end, Noelle died on that snowy Christmas Eve.

"The house smells like cinnamon and pine, the maids have laid out the most incredible brunch, and I’m pretty sure Dad actually bought us real presents this year instead of just stock options." Ariana sat up, pushing her tangled hair back. The memory of the night before—the desk, the leather couch, the feeling of Mateo filling her—was so vivid it felt like it was tattooed on her skin. She looked at Cami, her best friend, and felt a sharp, jagged pang of guilt. "Merry Christmas, Cami," Ariana said, her voice slightly raspy. "How’s the ankle? Dad said you really did a number on it last night." Cami leaned over, inspecting Ariana’s foot.

But instead of taking a seat, she leaned over and smiled into his face. ”Times up,” she giggled happily. “Come on, I’ll show you where you can get changed.” She straightened up and started to walk off. Matt stood up and grabbed his sack of presents, which held his change of clothes. ”Ho ho ho,” he bellowed, grabbing his fake gut. “Merry Christmas, everyone.” Without waiting for a response, he turned and quickly followed Karen into the kitchen and down the stairs to the basement.

Just staring at the dark ceiling and thinking of many things. I remember myself praying and hoping to be reunited and celebrate this occasions with my family, and I think He heard my prayers.

Mara chose to be quiet which was unusually her because before, she would have jumped right in and and stop the nonsense. Jace tightened his fists but controlled his anger. He wasn't going to give in and react the way they wanted him to. Instead, he remained calm until who he was here to see stepped out which he did some minutes after. He moved closer with his gift and half bowed. "Merry Christmas, Father." An elderly man with half of his hair turned white to reflect the sign of old age showed up clearly. He collected the gift and set them aside. A young beautiful woman came out next to him. Even though she was in her later sixties, she looked gorgeous.
