Joy asked Della. Just then the wind started to blow again and the trees started to turn. After what happened last time, all of Caine's men came running from the trees and into the light. Nobody was trusting shit where they were at. The air was suddenly filled with the throbbing noise of helicopters. It was a well known sound at the castle. Everyone looked up as the choppers got low enough to drop rescue ropes and the lead copter swooped low over Caine and the pilot yelled, "Miss me hoe??!!" And he laughed manically as he pulled up and his copter dropped a rope as well.

Declan pulls me aside before one hits me. "Quick," he says. We go down the stairs. The fire seems to chase us. The entire castle is groaning, as if it's dying. Wood cracks. Stone splits. Somewhere above us, an explosion sounds. Probably one of the generators Harvey sabotaged. When we reach the ground floor, the entrance hall is already filled with smoke. The main door is open. Orange light enters from outside. The sun is rising. We step out. The cold morning air hits my face like a slap. I breathe deeply, coughing. The castle behind us is in flames. The towers are lit in orange and red. Black smoke rises into the clear sky. It's beautiful and horrible at the same time.

I can't wait to see the look on Ashrac's face when he sees it. I spend another hour wandering around the castle learning all the nooks and crannies. The sword cabinet is my last destination. I swipe another sword to hide under my bed. Now, I've done everything I can to keep from flying out my window in eagle form. But I failed, so I finally shift to put some air beneath my wings.

Head crashed onto the graves; her clothes covered in mud and adorned large holes of the misery she bore. The shrieks and wails had no effect as her body levitated from stone to stone until she was deeper in the opaque area. Red was disappearing from the sky and the moon rose in the middle, glaring at her with its reddened eyes. She lay at its feet hoping for mercy, but it had only surprises for her. Smoke arrested her in its trap until a gray castle born ahead of her. The Circle continued the blusterous acts against her by dragging her up the staircase. Cassy’s spine bled yet she didn’t groan in pain. They ceased right at the black wooden door.

She was surprised by the question. But answered without hesitation: “Yes.” Gabriel’s eyes widened slightly. She herself didn’t notice how quickly she had answered. Silence settled for a few seconds. Then Gabriel looked away toward the dark sky. But a small smile appeared on his lips anyway. And Iris… felt her heart beating faster again. After a long time of flying… something enormous appeared on the horizon. Her eyes widened gradually. A massive black castle rose above the mountains, surrounded by glowing rivers and endless towering walls. And in the sky around it…

A massive castle grows around us, reaching toward the sky with twisting spires and walls stretching twenty stories high, maybe further. Bigger than the castle in Moonrise, by far. “What was this place?” Aviva asks over the downpour. “The Firestones had castles all over the place,” I shout back as my powers curve and fade, the castle falling in a cascade of mist. I’m not sure if it’s my powers flickering out or if they’re giving us a glimpse of how this place actually fell to oblivion. The ground beneath us fills with silver mist, rising around us in a bubble–a cavern… a cave.

Unfortunately. I sleep during the trip and dream of Elliot and Leo, much to Cassie's delight. I don't know if I'm ready, I don't know how we're going to do it but be so close to death has opened my eyes. I'm woken up by the pilot asking us to fasten our seatbelts for the landing and I take the opportunity to observe the Castle through the window. It looks like a big mansion, and when I say big I mean really big, a bit like the Versailles castle in France but with more floors and with towers.
