Unfortunately, none of the books in this series is standalone, so you have to read them in chronological order. You can also go for CURSED BLESSINGS. Again, this is book one in the series The Blessed Ones.

My mind was screaming danger, but my body was singing a different tune. The chandelier above casts a yellowish glow, highlighting the tension etched on their faces. I spot my contact, a man, only a few years older than me, with umber skin and hazel brown eyes, his tattoos on full display.

“Ah yes! You're right, Del! But, who does he mean? Save who?” “He didn't say anything else?” “No, you yourself know, I immediately cast a spell.” “Wink, I feel like you have to save someone.” Delia took the mineral water and took a sip. It was like a nightmare. She saw someone scary. “Who?” Winky asked. Delia shrugged her shoulders in a clueless way. But the most dangerous is if suddenly that person will appear again. “Wink, you should have told your mo—” Delia's words were cut off when she heard the sound of a book falling from Winky's room again. The hairs on their necks growled. Both of them were afraid to enter Winky's room.

I could feel them watching us. Oscar moved carefully, scanning shelves with the precision of someone trained in forbidden history. “We’re looking for anything tied to vessels, blood rites, sacrificial magic,” I said. “And anything that mentions the Blood Moon.” Oscar nodded. “Give me a few hours.” I turned and scanned the far side of the archive. It wasn’t long before I found a cluster of sealed tomes tucked beneath a shattered statue of the first High Seer. The covers were marked in red wax…dangerous, unreadable, sealed by decree. I broke the seals anyway.
