After the first explosion, a straight cracking line appeared in the middle of the divide and it continued cracking until there was a gorge separating the outer and inner parts of the castle. They started running out of the formation coverage range into the outer part of the castle where everything seemed to be calm and together. Chapter 21: The Prince's Fury The castle, usually a bastion of elegance and order, was now a warzone. The walls, once decorated with tapestries of royal victories, seemed to bear the weight of the tragedy that had unfolded. There was a tension in the air, a heaviness that clung to the stone corridors like smoke. The events of the past few days had shattered any semblance of normalcy, and now the true consequences were beginning to take shape.

"Let's go home." "Home?" I turned toward the city. The great central tower of the palace was leaning at a terrifying angle, the high windows blowing out one by one as the fire from the Shadow Gallery reached the upper treasury. The white stone walls that had held the North out for three hundred years were cracking, large blocks of masonry tumbling down into the grand square like pebbles. The city guard had stopped fighting. The Southern vanguard had stopped running. Both armies stood in the red snow, their faces pale as they watched the entire kingdom collapse into a heap of black charcoal and yellow smoke.

“Mommy, help me! We need towers and walls!” I knelt beside her, smoothing the sand into shape. “Towers first, then we’ll build the walls to protect them.” Her little face scrunched in concentration, her tongue peeking out as she carefully filled her small pail with sand and flipped it over. The tower collapsed instantly, and she gasped. “Don’t worry,” I said quickly, brushing her hair away from her cheek. “That’s the thing about castles, baby. If they fall, we build them again. Stronger.”

A shadow, deep and foreboding, crept across the sky, veiling the sun in an unnatural eclipse. As if in response to the encroaching darkness, the vibrant blooms that once adorned the garden began to wither, their petals shriveling and falling like mournful tears. The once-lush grass beneath my feet succumbed to a relentless drought, its verdant hues replaced by a desolate sea of parched earth. A sense of unease gripped me, and I rose from the decaying garden, compelled to seek solace elsewhere. Turning my gaze toward the imposing silhouette of the castle, an unsettling sight met my eyes. The once-sturdy walls, symbols of strength and security, now bore ominous cracks that marred their surface
