Risks Of Loving You

Risks Of Loving You

I turn the phone back off and return it to the desk. Finally, I turn back to the bookshelf. I pick up a book I found titled The Catcher in the Rye . I recognized the title as a classic piece of American literature, but I've never read it myself. His copy looks distinctly different from the rest of his books. The others look either new or almost new, but this one looks as though it has been read several times. I settle on the couch, open the book, and begin to read. ~~~ I freeze when I hear thumping outside on the porch. The doorknob rattles. I stare at the door in terror. A loud knock sounds. It's probably Ryan. It's got to be him. Definitely.

One Cent a Day: My Mom's Anti‑Degenerate Plan

One Cent a Day: My Mom's Anti‑Degenerate Plan

Upon hearing that, my classmates were even more annoyed and spoke up loudly. "Who knows who took her lousy bracelet?" "Just what century are we living in now? Who would steal a silver bracelet?" "Mr. Whitclaw, Charlotte is so poor that she can't even procure more than a few dollars each day. Where did she even get the money to buy a silver bracelet? Could it be that she stole it?" one of them asked impatiently, Mr. Whitclaw was visibly surprised at those words. He then turned to me to ask again, "Did you really lose a silver bracelet? What does it look like?"

Transylvania Academy: What It Takes To Be a Monster

Transylvania Academy: What It Takes To Be a Monster

Sometimes, Cent would think she was an abomination hence why she was abandoned. "Go away," said Cent before she materialized as a flock of black butterflies, leaving the confines of her cramped room. It was her birthday today, and she dreaded what ability she would get. THE LOCAL ice skating gym just two blocks from the foster shelter became Cent's second home through the years. She would always trespass when the rink was not in use, or no one was renting it. The seventeenth birthday gift she got from Sister Tasha was a pair of secondhand skating shoes that Cent treasured the most.

Escape

Escape

If he can see every move I make, how will I ever make a move against him? During my rampage of a small bookshelf on the wall next to the bed, I find classic books such as, The Catcher in the Rye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and so on. Spotting amongst the classics a leather bound book with no title or author. I slowly open it and inside handwritten pages are revealed. May 12th 1998

Teaching her a lesson

Teaching her a lesson

This promised to be the best summer break of my life. That Tuesday we started our final book of the year in senior English,The Catcher in the Rye. It was a quick unit, one of the few books where I had more troubles with students reading ahead than keeping up. A short book with fluffy assignments designed in part to shore up weaknesses in the grades of our graduates-to-be,Catcher was a welcome respite from denser material. Not only was it usually a crowd-pleaser, but with students on their way to starting jobs, college, families, the whole rest of their lives, it was a good opportunity to address the theme of growing up, its messiness and confusion and allure and unpleasantness. That I was sl

This book although taboo, brilliantly done. Original content and vividly described. Well paced. Thoroughly enjoyed and Im not even done with it yet. 30 chapters left. Def worth the read and def should be rated higher. Must be cuz of the subject matter though.

Really well-written, and very hot! It is so nice to read a book on one of these platforms without egregious spelling and grammatical errors! It lists this book as ongoing, but there haven’t been updates in a while. I would love more!

Twelve Years Later, His Canary Flew Away

Twelve Years Later, His Canary Flew Away

"You'll regret this." His face was a thundercloud as he spat the words. "You won't last a week alone in New York before you come crying to me for protection!" I was trembling with rage. As we stood there, locked in a standoff, the door was suddenly pushed open. Isabella walked in, holding a small black velvet box. "Soren, you left your cufflinks at my place." She opened the box, revealing a pair of platinum cufflinks. They were the engagement gift I had given Soren.
