Teaching her a lesson

Teaching her a lesson

This promised to be the best summer break of my life. That Tuesday we started our final book of the year in senior English,The Catcher in the Rye. It was a quick unit, one of the few books where I had more troubles with students reading ahead than keeping up. A short book with fluffy assignments designed in part to shore up weaknesses in the grades of our graduates-to-be,Catcher was a welcome respite from denser material. Not only was it usually a crowd-pleaser, but with students on their way to starting jobs, college, families, the whole rest of their lives, it was a good opportunity to address the theme of growing up, its messiness and confusion and allure and unpleasantness. That I was sl

This book although taboo, brilliantly done. Original content and vividly described. Well paced. Thoroughly enjoyed and Im not even done with it yet. 30 chapters left. Def worth the read and def should be rated higher. Must be cuz of the subject matter though.

Really well-written, and very hot! It is so nice to read a book on one of these platforms without egregious spelling and grammatical errors! It lists this book as ongoing, but there haven’t been updates in a while. I would love more!

Stuck between Hockey Player and his Quarterback Brother

Stuck between Hockey Player and his Quarterback Brother

I murmured, staring down at my calculus worksheet. "You don't have to thank me for respecting you, Tamine," Evans said, his voice a low, steady anchor in the chaotic cafeteria. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a battered paperback copy of The Great Gatsby. "Now, are you going to help me understand chapter seven, or are we going to sit here and glare at differential equations all period?" A genuine, relieved smile finally broke across my face. "Page 154, Thorpe. And if you make one more joke about the valley of ashes, I'm charging you double for this session."

My Sweet Surrender (Aftermath Series #1)

My Sweet Surrender (Aftermath Series #1)

The title said 'The Fault in Our Stars'. "I think you'd like this one. But don't get your hopes up..." Caleb smiled. I held the book to my chest and thanked him. Getting my hands on a new book is something close to magical for me. I finally bid Caleb goodbye, and the next thing I know...the shotgun seat of the truck was right in front of me. Dom went out and held the door open. I mindlessly entered the vehicle while holding the book, reading its sypnosis. I could feel Dom's cold stare linger at what I'm holding before he went back to the driver's seat.

Escape

Escape

If he can see every move I make, how will I ever make a move against him? During my rampage of a small bookshelf on the wall next to the bed, I find classic books such as, The Catcher in the Rye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and so on. Spotting amongst the classics a leather bound book with no title or author. I slowly open it and inside handwritten pages are revealed. May 12th 1998

The Billionaire's Surrogate

The Billionaire's Surrogate

I can’t remember turning it on. I bend down to pick up the book. It was his favorite, ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ by J. D. Salinger. He took it everywhere he went. The day I had to collect his things at the hospital, it was just this and an old jacket that once belonged to my dad. The book, old and worn, has scribbled handwriting inside, like it was written in a hurry before the thought was lost. I close my eyes and open it on a random page. I read the first quote I can find:

The Unexpected Mate

The Unexpected Mate

Zayden As soon as I got done showering, I hurried and dried my body and hair, put on my clothes and walk out the door. I see my little mate sitting in the chair I left her in but with a book in hand. I slowly walk over to her and lean on the back of the chair. I notice she is reading my favorite book. Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. “How do you like it so far?” I startled her apparently as she jumped as soon as I asked the question.

This is a great book but I hope that it has a second put. what happens to Zyaden mom and does Everleigh ever go back. Do they look for her. Do they keep the look a like. What happens to Desi kid. What happen to the pack as a whole now that she is gone. Where does she go and do her old pack find her

I really and truly LOVED this book. Yes, the ending was unexpected. Everleigh is too powerful and should be mated to only one fae mate. Or a fae/werewolf one. Grey and Zayne weren’t able to appreciate her. Actually, no one was able to appreciate her true self. I’m relieved she left them all.

Chasing Dylan

Chasing Dylan

Thankfully it was hot and I could actually enjoy my shower. When I was done, I quickly got dressed for school, feeling excited about it for the first time in a long time. I hurriedly packed my bag, filling it with note books and an assortment of pens. The book that I'd been reading, noticeably missing. Eliza taking my book away from me may have affected me in that moment, but by the time I got home I was over it. The minute I got off from work, I bought an ebook version of the The Testaments, and finished it that very night. Suck it Eliza. After I had all of my things, I bolted down the stairs, and ran straight out the door that way no one could attempt to ruin my morning.

Had to add one more comment because my last didn’t have enough room lol. But I love the representation for women of color. I don’t see enough on here and have seen some pretty cringe worthy stuff when they are featured. This is a breath of fresh air. And the boujie comment was hilarious.

My severe brother

My severe brother

Ohh shit! The damage he can do to himself is more than the damage I can do to him. I closed the cameras, then I went to his room. He was in the shower, I sat on his bed waiting for him. I looked at the book which he is reading: where the things come back by Corey Whaley ( I suggest you read it, dear readers ) I smiled at the memory when my father forced me to read it and it was amazing. I put the book on his nightstand when I saw another book Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jess Andrews.
