His eyes misted then he nodded and left.
On the drive, Isabelle consumed my thoughts, a habit i have developed now, morning to night.
The road stretched dark and empty, headlights carving twin tunnels through the night. Almost home. Just a few more minutes.
Then three figures materialized in the beam stepping deliberately into the middle of the road.
One in full black, face masked except for cold, glittering eyes and a sneering mouth. A cigarette dangled from his lips, ember flaring red as he inhaled.
