"So what made you want to give him a chance now?" I folded my arms across my chest, leaning on the kitchen counter.
Layla stared at the wall as if the wall held the answers to my question. "I don't know. His apologies sounded genuine. And the woman I saw him with reached out. She said I misunderstood it. She explained that Jake wasn't cheating and that she had a fiancé, who she's getting married to soon."
"So when I heard that, I was relieved. I realized I acted too fast. I didn't give him a chance. And you know what?" She turned to me.
